Insulting someone's intelligence? Yet you can't type a single sentence without all capital letters or the use of proper punctuation? I guess when most law enforcement departments only require that you get a high school diploma, there probably isn't much of a need for writing skills.

Looks like an opened a can of worms here. Police get no respect in their job because they deseve little. Far too many times in my life I've been needlessly hassled by junior cops on a power trip. I'm sure many here have their stories too.

IAM1096: Since when do we need to worry about our grammer when posting? A sign of our intellect? Our career status? Please turn the caps off when you call me an asshole too.

(there must be good money flippin' burgers to have a 'Stang for a toy )

Default why are all of you guys bashing me??

I realy dont know why you all are bashing me. I was just writing a story that happened to me. I am 18 and just graduated high school. But I do not understand why you have the right to belittle me? I graduated top 25% (with a 3.52) in my class and recided a full athletic/academic scholarship.
I am the president of my schools robotics club, and captain of my wrestling and football team. That both finished top 4 in the state for 5A.

bailiff,7th Pny,IAM1096,aremann2, let me teach you something,
"yes sir"
Because that is what you all will be saying to me when I'm your boss one day. Ahh hha!!!!!

And here is a web site if you do not know some of the words i used

You might want to rethink... Follow along. Last night your beloved Stang got stolen. The next morning the local cops are briefed. Discussed is a description of your car, including the plate. Later that morning, Johnny Law is at an intersection. Across from him is a nice shiny Mustang. He looks at the FRONT plate. Something looks familiar. He thinks for a minute, then remembers the briefing. Stolen Mustang! He runs the numbers. Bingo! A hit. Stolen car. 10 minutes later, a couple of snotty piss ants are going to jail, and you're on your way to getting your ride back. Now, if there HADN'T been a front plate...

I don't know HOW many times I've been looking for suspect vehicles, (murder suspects, kidnapped kids), and WISHED my state had front plates.

I KNOW they don't always LOOK great, but...

Generally speaking the first thing someone does out here in California when they steal a car is directly take it to a shop to strip it down and part it out. The more intelligent and skillful criminals aren't normally caught taking a freshly stolen car, especially a more high profile and easily identifiable car and just cruising around the sunset blvd waiting to get picked up by a cop or for someone to identify their plates.

Now, the good news and the bad news is that 64 percent of stolen cars are recovered. However less than 30 percent of them are recovered intact and without significant damage, and even less than 30 percent of the criminals are even caught who commit these crimes.

Cops, as it sounds like you would know a lot about, would probably search a little harder if they knew there was a missing girl in one of these cars, or a missing person of any nature. But if some kid calls up and says my brand new Acura was stolen. Well, if they see it they see it, but there's no big manhunt.

My father had his truck stolen twice. The first time it was recovered quickly, I was impressed. Second time, it was recovered…. But it might as well have never been found. The first person who stole it was a very desperate man, who didn't know what he was doing.. Wanted drugs, and saw an opportunity. The second person was probably related to some sort of gang where car thievery is there business because the car was found weeks later gutted and left for dead.

Similar stories among my friends cars. I've been lucky enough not to have my cars stolen, but I've known far more people who have been not so lucky, and no front plate helped them.

There is always exceptions of course.

My dealer went ahead and drilled holes without telling me because I ordered the car in Iowa, where they require front plates. He didn't think about the fact that I live in North Carolina, where they do not. I was not happy. I would've made a real stink but I'm moving to Texas, where I hear they now have a front plate. Oh well, c'est la vie.

Oh, and as for the cop thing.....Cops are people too. Some are jerks, some are genuinely nice guys (or gals), just like the rest of society.

I don't know where you live but I wish our cops did look for stolen cars. I had 2 stolen off of my car lot, called the cops it took them 2 hours to get to me and they wanted to know why I waited so long to call! WTF is that all about? They recovered one about a week after and will not prosecute the guy that was driving it because he sed he "rented it from a guy the night before" I have security pictures and an eyewitness. Tuff luck for me. Two week after the report the cops called me wanting to know if I had found the other car! Sorry, I thought that was their job. My husband ended up recovering the second car after seeing it going down the road and followed the a**hole that was driving it. He was in a wrecker and was going to "steal" it back but I called JSO ( Jacksonville Sheriffs Office, just do you know if it gets stolen in florida you are on your own) they came to my husband and arrested the guy but guess what? No charges because he "borrowed it from a guy the night before" makes me think I am in the wrong business. My point is the cops here suck....if you want help don't call. Oh, can't forget to tell you this, the weekend following my husbands recovery of the car the theif came into my carlot wanting his stuff out of the car!! Unbelivable! I was here alone, called for help, guess what the dispatcher said, we are shorthanded call back on Monday!! So I got my own "protection" and will not call them until the guy is on the floor bleeding....

I drilled and installed my front plates myself....It took some consideration....I didn't really want to...but I did pay for 2 personalized plates that I like.....and seen NO reason to give an written invitation to the law to pull me over ...my foot does that enough.

I'll take an order of Fries please....And a donut for desert if any of you cops left one......LMFAO

Wow, lot's of EMO up in hurr.

1. If you chose NOT to follow the law, and do NOT install the required street legal equipment in your state, say a front license plate, I fail to see how calling cops names gets me onto your side. I put on a front plate, did I want to? Fck no. Why? Umm, cause it's the law and I'm not a juvenile looking to "keep the man from let me pimp my ride, sall on the down low yo".
2. Getting mad at the officers of the law because a POS FCKIN WORTHLESS CANKER OF AN ALLEDGED HUMAN stole your personal property, is pointless. They didn't leave it in an unlit, unsecure, unattended, windows down, no alarm, bad part of town, too drunk to walk, situation. YOU did.
Yes, I have been abused by the system. I had a POS drunken old man hit my '70 SST Javelin baby, and run. A witness saw it and noted the POS license plate. I drove to the precinct a COUPLE blocks away. They said they can't do anything cuz I LEFT THE CRIME SCENE. I tried to serve a summons to the POS man but he had no sack to open his door and face his mistake. At the time I was benching 400 lbs free weights and am 6'2, 205 lbs, I probably would have done some stupid sh!t and it was likely best I just ate that incident. Point; it had jack all to do with the cops, although they didn't help me much, the POS man was the POS in this case.
I still say yes sir and no sir to cops when pulled over. I respect the fact that they are trying to keep the POS insane crack heads out of my house even though they have a "bible sized" handbook of rules to adhere to while the street criminal has no rules and moreover, this fcked up system puts them back on the streets in no time at all only to start at square one. If I ever see a cop in trouble I would not hesitate to pull over and use any means necessary to help out IF I could and IF his life was in danger and IF he asked/ needed for it.
I grew up on the wrong side of the tracks and have zero compassion for criminals, most bad asses in my day were my ex-high school buddies and lemme say, I know the inner workings of how rotton these people are.
3. If you are 18 and are an athlete/ scholar I say great. You kids now days are being taught stuff that 10 years ago was college material. Very tuff to get good grades in most high schools now days. Congrats. But, bro, you are 18 and don't know sh!t about the outside real world yet. When you are on your own away from daddy and mommy, you will see how fcked up this world can be, and how your alledged freinds can turn on a dime. I wish you well in college bro, I ain't comming down on you, just letting you know wasup.
I don't mean to make such a long post but, when it comes to criminals, gd-it, don't even get me started.

So no one has actually come up with a way of affixing the front plate without drilling? Seems like it would not be a huge challenge. I'm definitely going to work on something. If you ask the dealership not to drill holes in the front, then will they typically comply?

On a side-note, do they typically leave those stupid dealership badges off if you ask them to? Hehe!

I ask them to leave off the dealer emblems and they did with no problem...As for the drilling....I bought from a dealer in another state that does not have front plates..So it wasn't an issue with them.
