Just wanted to find out how many others have taken there 05's down the 1/4 and how you did. If you have performed any mods to it please post them and how you did after installing them and running. Wife and I just recently took ours to the track to see how it would do. Track temp was in the mid 90's here with high humidity. Time of day was around 6 in the evening. Ran 87 octane bone stock. ran 14.6 in the 1/4. She was definetly affected by the heat and we knew it, could feel it nosing over. reaction times were good. Going on the 15th to get a baseline Dyno run before the mods take place. Tuner is guessing right now ( He has not seen it ) 260 to 270 RWHP. Did run against another 05 and he ran 12.9 but has had some mods done to it, Talk to him about what he has done and he informed me he normally runs consistent 12.6's all day long, shows how much the heat affected him. Ran it at the lovely Norwalk, Ohio raceway park, going on the 10th to Thompson to see how it does there. Will post time slips if anyone is interested.
Well, I took my car to the drag strip for the fourth time last night again. Each time I race this car I learn more about it. Every time I have raced this car, the first 4 or so passes of the night are terrible, the car bogs on acceleration off the line. Ive played with tire air pressures, different clutching methods and all have the same results the first couple of runs, high 14.0's w/ 2.4 60'. Then after the car cools down a little (since I drive it to the track-about 45 miles) the car hooks up and hardly bogs at all. I read an article a few moths ago in MMFF about them having trouble dynoing the stang b/c after a few hard runs, the computer has water temp & hard temp sensors that limit engine power when the temp sensors reach a certain temp, to protect the engine. This makes sence now.... of why the first runs suck after running the car hard for 45mins driving to the track. After many runs, each time ive went to the track ive ran 13.97's w/ 2.0 - 2.1 60' after the car has cooled. She seems to like 22psi in the rear tires (street tires, no burnout), launching @ 3,000 while feathering the clutch, and shifting @ about 5,500, with a stock setup. I also removed the hyrdocarbon trap, and it has had no neg. effect. I'm going sat. to meet and setup a sct x cal #2 reflash, and plan on taking her to a road racing course for her second road race. Ill keep you'll updated

I'm taking ours to Big Shot Dyno in Hudson, he's closer for me. I checked out the one your talking about in the Norwalk area. They have a very nice website, I really like there new facility and hope to visit it. I have not tried lowering the air in the tires yet, plan on doing that on the 10th at Thompson. I was happy with the reaction times at Norwalk, best was a .215 still ran the 1/4 in 14.6 same issue with the 60' times of 2.2. launched her at 2500,2800, and 3000. Did not matter, it was just too hot that day. The wife and I have joined up with a Mustang club in the Cleveland area that is just getting started up and one of the guys who has an 04 Cobra vert told me that the one guy from SCT will be in our area on the 9th performing tunes. Found out he charges around 450 to 500 to perform a tune with your car. First mods we plan on doing to her as we can afford it are under pulleys from sean hyland motorsports and the sct x2 flash, then the C&L intake. Then we will go from there. I have been told that the stock headers are fine and no need to change them out, will probably go with the Bassani X-pipe next year. I will email you tonight when I get off work, want to stay in touch so as to learn more about what everyone else has done and how theres have reacted.
I had an opportunity to make a run down in Darlington earlier this year. Air temperature around 70F. Air was pretty dense so I figured I'd have a decent time. I had 3 runs and my best was 14.7 with a trap speed of 98.87MPH. I ran stock tires but played with the air pressure a bit. My only mods are the SCT X Cal with a 93 Octane tune, a MAC CAI and a JBA axleback. I figure with a little tweaking and a decent set of gears I hope to bust into the mid 13's.

Hmm, have you had it dyno-ed? I don't think gears are your issue at this point. You should be 280+ rwhp and in the low 13's minimum...
Here is a guy with same performance mods as I have; C&L CAI, Predator tune and Steeda UP's, cooking a 12.77 ET. He also had 4.10's, which I am getting next week finally, and ET streets, you have to get that torque to hook properly..
Welp..I'll let my time slip speak for itself..the only mods done to my car are the JLT CAI and the 93 octane predator tune. My time is the one on the left where they didn't get my car# which was #201. I guess I should also say that mine is a stick.
14.7 in a 1/4 mile? For the GT, way too slow, and I have the 4.0 Version and that seems very fast. I've taken mine down the track a few times. Not enough to practice with her and my best was a 15.6 with a .014 R/T. A CAI and exhaust can knock off a whole Second? Dunno. With better temp and air pressure, I probably could have pulled a 15.5 or maybe a 15.4. That 14.7 sounds a little off. IMO.

4:10's installed now but now new numbers.
