My very first car....Not bad for an 18 year old....
Hey everyone, first post here.....Ive been checking this site out for about 6 months now and 2 weeks ago today I bought my very first car....A shiny new 2005 Mustang.......Everyone says im nuts cuz im 18 and everything but damn, I make good money so I wanted to buy a great car....... Heres my story, the specs of my car and some pics.....
Ok the people I work with make fun of me because its a v6 and laugh at me saying how slow it is and that their honda (or some **** like that) could run circles around me, blah blah blah, but ill be honest, I bought this car because I like it, I don't plan on racing it, I bought it because of the huge bang for your buck you get out of such a sporty looking car. I purchased it on June 30th of 2005 from Future Ford in Roseville, CA......Heres the specs of what I got
2005 Ford Mustang v6 Premium - Satin Silver Clearcoat
Automatic transmission
Cloth bucket seats
"Spinner" rims
Shaker 500 - (got it for free)
Window tinting - (got it for free)
Rear spoiler - (got it for free)
Today its at the dealership getting the spoiler, tinting, lojack, and xzilon put on....... After tax and licensing I paid $25,999.....The only reason im not pissed about the price is because of the extras I got....Im gonna order a leather bra for it tommorow, I want this car to look nice for years to come so im taking care of this ****...... Heres some pics...And yes, before you ask, I paid for the car oh, and my insurance is 283 bucks a month
These pics were taken the day I bought the car......Ill post some updated pics with the spoiler and tinting tommorow when I get the car back....
you know what, the V6 mustang isn't that bad in performace. It will probably keep up with most of those damn imports ur freinds at work are bragging about. Unless they dumped a bunch of money in them.
First of all do not worry too much about what other people think. It is pointless, and in truth, most of them are probably just green with envy that you have a cool looking car and they drive a boring "camery/accord" look alike.
The V6 mustang is a great car. When gas hits $3.00 per gal later this year many GT owners might see the V6 in a new light...
Enjoy, and congradulations, the car looks great.....

People who bought a GT don't care about the price of gas. You don't care about gas when you drop $30,000 for a toy. That's what it is, a toy. It has **** for a back seat, no trunk space, insurance is crazy, gas milage sucks, and comparably priced cars have GPS and fancy computers and all sorts of other tricks that the Mustang doesn't. It is actually a horrible investment, and completely impractical. We know that going into the purchase. Therefore, we don't care about the price of gas. It's like when I change my daughter's diaper: I don't look upon that as a foul, filthy, smelly task. That is a chance for me and my baby to spend some bonding time, and her cries aren't annoying shrieks, they are a reminder that her lungs are working just fine.
Now the huge SUV owners, they care about the price of gas, because they have more responsible things in mind when they bought their car: hauling the soccer kids and their whole team around, being able to survive a head-on collision with an M1 Abrams main battle tank, keeping the kids pacified with the onboard DVD, etc. Yeah, the price of gas is hitting those folks right in the nads.
Good luck with your new stang. The v6 is a great car. Dont worry about what those clowns say about it being slow. While they are racing down the street like butt heads, you will be cruising down the road with a car load girls. The 2005 is such a chick magnet. They just love it.

Welcome and nice car. I'd pass on the bra plan as those puppies will scratch and scuff the crap outta your paint underneath. Even if you keep the front of your car clean and well waxed road grime get's under them and then gets rubbed around as the bra moves with wind hitting it. Basically once you have one for any length of time you have to leave it on because the paint underneath takes such a beating it will look horrible, at least that was my experience with those things, maybe others have had better luck with them.

I have an F-250 and don't really give a rat's arse about gas prices. I happened to want an economy car for around town. So I got the Mustang GT. I'm actually using just as much gas a week. Just having a lot more fun, and getting there quicker.

Totally agree. The stang isn't about gas. You get it cuz you want a fast toy. V6 isn't much better on gas, just a few miles/per gal. But congrats on your first car. I got my first stang when I was 18 also('01 V6) enjoy. When you start making the big bucks go by yourself a GT ;-).
And 918Chef: Poor choice of words. This thing is far from an economy car.
