Default CDC V6 Chin Spoiler

I received my Classic Design Concepts V6 chin spoiler and installed it the other night. (I'm sorry I can't post a pic as my digital camera is FUBAR.) I think it looks good. I am conservative in my tastes and prefer a more classic look. I think this spoiler adds a very subtle agressiveness to the nose of the V6 that was lacking. The photo on their site is not the best- you really need to look at it from slightly above and at an angle to appreciate the affect.

http://www.classicdesignconcepts.com...splay/650.html

I paid the extra $ to get it painted black, as I didn't want to f around with prep and paint. It installed very easily using existing screws in the wheel well and 3M tape. There could have been a better match between the screw holes and the edge of my fascia- the spoiler near the screw mounting doesn't quite make contact. This is probably due to production variations of the cars and the spoilers. It could probably be remedied by enlarging the hole in either the spoiler or where the screw passes through the fascia. By the time I discovered it it was too late, so I'll have to live with it.

At any rate, I'm happy with it. Now I wish that their ducktail used the stock 3rd brake light, because that light bar is really cheesey. The ducktail might be too over the top anyway...

I was thinking about the smaller chin spoiler like the one you got. I would have liked to see a picture of your car with it on. How much clearance do you loose when you install it? I know right now theres a little black plastic piece on there now. I assume you remove that before you install the chin spoiler. Also how long did it take for you to get your chin spoiler after you ordered it? TIA

I also was looking for a Duck tail spoiler that uses the third brake light. I found this link and ordered the Duck tail spoiler from them. It arrived yesterday. I have a bud thats in the body shop business so I will be dropping it off soon.

I'll try and get hold of a camera.

I'm pretty sure it took less than two weeks. Maybe less. I don't have the confirmation e-mail here right now to check the date.

The installation was really only about 15 minutes or less of work, but I took it really slow since I wanted it good and straight and it uses 3M tape. I too thought it would go where the black piece is, but it actually mounts to the fascia where it makes the "chin" curve. Because of that I don't think I lost more than a few inches (3?) of clearance, although since it's out front more I am backing into spaces now so i don't take it off on a curb.

That ducktail looks pretty good. I'd be interested in some side and angle views when you install it.

Default Problems...

Never did get a hold of a camera, but that's moot since the 3M tape failed and the thing is dangling off. Of course that would be a good photo too. Can't drive the car until I can find the time to remove the thing. Contacted the company but no word on suggested resolutions yet. I am thinking off drilling holes and permanently mounting it. Afterall, I do like the look and a lower fascia piece isn't all that expensive if I want to go back to stock. Developing...

wnewport, that sucks! I am leaning towards getting the chin spoiler but after reading you post now it seems maybe I will wait for a better mod. Without seeing it in person would it be possible to pop rivet it around the undersdie to keep it in place where the 3M tape was holding it?

Just got my ducktail installed a week or so back. Here are some pics of it.
