nope, 06 is my first mustang. always loved the sixties stangs though. like many here i have little interest in the mustangs made from about 71 thru 04. i do appreciate the 5.0 era... when i saw the 05, my interest was quickly re-kindled....
Exactly the same way I feel/felt here. Does that make us bad? 1st time I layed eyes on the s197 I knew I had to have one. Purchased without driving the GT.
The 06 is not only my first Mustang but first Ford in 20 years of driving. I'm probably only going to be in the US for 5 years (I'm from Northern Ireland) and I wanted something American. I'm also hooked on the V8 sound after owning TVR in Ireland for 8 years. Also the new Mustang looks great and it was a test drive drive that really sold it - a lesson for dealers like Champion Ford who offered a test drive in an e-mail and when I turned up refused to give me one. I ordered from Legacy Ford in Rozenberg after a quick test.

My 06 is my 4th Mustang. The first car I bought (not handed-down) was a 1970 Coupe. Followed by a 1978 that I used for my Winter ride when I lived near Chicago. Fel out of stangs and into Jeeps for awhile. After 2 CJs and a 98 Wrangler, I got a 1990 Convert Mustang. I saw pictures of the s197 and was interested, but it wasn't until I saw one in person that I knew I had to get one. Almost got an 03/04 Mach 1, but I drive an hour each way to work, and was alittle big and tall for that body style. I drove an 06 V6 a week before my birthday in August, and ordered my new GT. I absolutley love this car, and it is by far the best built Mustang, if not the tightest Ford ever. I was Ford tech for almost 20 years, so I knew to hold off for the first year, and man was it hard to do!
Never owned one and never intended to. I was a "Mopar or no car" guy. But I made the mistake of taking an 05 for a test drive. That sold me. At the time Dodge has nothing worth looking at. The Charger is an overpriced boat and the SRT-4 is fun but too import-ish for me.
