Default I have got the car show blues

I am really bummed right now. This coming Saturday is scheduled for a good size car show, for which I am showing my Stang for the first time. I just spent the money and time to get the new ducktail painted and installed as well as the light bar installed and several dressup goodies for the engine bay. Now I discover that it is expected to rain on Saturday!!!!

My car does not even know that rain exists. Remember, if you will, my rule, the weather must be 70 degress or better with NO POSSIBILITY of rain for me to take my girl out. I think the gods are pissing on my parade. This is one of those times I am counting on the weather man being wrong, or at least wrong by 24 hours (either direction). The prediction is to possible light showers on Friday night, and rain all day Saturday with possible light rain on Sunday...for heavens sake, this is California!!! We are not even supposed to see rain from mid April to end of September...let alone see rain at the end of May.

Okay, I am done venting..,for now!!! I hope all you have a great weekend this weekend. get out there and enjoy those Stangs!!!

Bummer, but I have a silly question, why are you worried about it getting wet? you wash it don't you

The getting wet in of itself is not a major problem. The problem is that my car shows best with the top down, and I am just not prepared for it to rain on my interior. Second, rain has a nasty habit of leaving water spots, which simply are not attractive. Lastly, rain is a sure way to put a damper on a car show. If it is cloudy I will still go, but if it actually rains, that would likely stop me from going to the show.

I went to a show last month in the rain. It rained on the way to the show and three times during it. Basically, the car got washed four times that day. Bring lots of microfiber. This is the reason I don't pre-register for shows this time of the year. You can always back out at the last minute and it doesn't cost you anything. My advice is bite the bullet and go for it. Chances are the weather people are wrong and if not - the turn out may be reduced giving you a great chance at Best In Show

Just pitch a tent around your Stang.

Not a bad plan, I can pick up one of those portable tents, as I have heard them called the "redneck garage". That can work. See, I knew if I vented here, you guys would make me feel better and come up with an idea or two. Thanks for letting me vent.

Oh yea...get this.. I last washed my car on May 3, it rained 2 days later and I swear it has rained EVERYDAY since then and that was May 5, it is now May 18. It's just depressing, and shes all dirty in the garage and even when there is an hour or so of sunshine there is no point in washing her because there is just more rain in the forecast .. when will it stop

Just remember on those portable tents, If it isn't tied down some kinda way the wind will turn it over onto your car. You could use a sand bag tied to each post. I used to do alot of art shows and fairs, So I have seen alot of those easy up tents completely destroyed or just blown away. Good luck on the car show! Just hope it's not one of those where the person or club members who's putting it on can enter! I've learned to stay away from those. Too much pollitics.

It appears the rain God is a wimp...for now the weather report indicates that rain is only a possibility in the evening of the car show. The show is over by 4PM, and it is expected to maybe rain later on. So my car show blues are rapidly fading. Does not matter anyways...I have a brand new package of unused microfiber towels just in case. Even if it rains, I am going to the show. I put too much work into my girl to let a few rain drops stop me.

You got that right crazyhorse. Have to watch out for the judges buddys too. lol

I'm judging "Late Models" in our clubs show this year. We dont allow menbers to enter. We have a club display and allow people to vote for best club car.

Now that sounds like a well run car show. I hate the shows like what I've been too lattly. I've notice the TMS source horse has been entered in their own club shows, and wins best of show! Not very fair to the people who drive along way and spend their money for entee fee, Just to be there for the hell of it. Don't get me wrong I think the project source horse is a great looking stang,But there are alot of nice stangs out there. It's just that alot of people don't have the kind of backing Brad has. they deserve to be able to enter a show and have atleast half of a chance to win.He could enter the car in other shows ,just not their own sponsored shows.

I agree with you competely crazyhorse. I dont like to see "company cars" in a show. I think it's disrespectful to everyone else that doesnt have the unlimited income and time that a company has. Thats not what cars shows are all about.

C'mon guys, get the facts right if you're going to criticize!

1. The Mustang Source has never hosted a show or entered a car in a show we sponsored.

2. Project Source Horse (PSH) has never won Best in Show, only Best in Class. The first Best in Class was the 2006 World of Wheels, in which PSH was the only car in its class. The second was Big Show 7, see point 3 for more info on that show. The third was the Rocket City Mustang Show in Huntsville. The Mustang Source did not sponsor that show and I am in no way affiliated with that group. Project Source Horse competed against at least a dozen other highly modified 2005-2006 Mustangs, Saleens, and Roushes and won its class based on popular vote, not politics or judging.

3. The only show that could have been misunderstood is Big Show 7, hosted by Magic City Mustangs, of which I am a member. Project Source Horse did in fact win its class in that show, but she was only judged against 2005-2006 Mustangs that also belonged to members of Magic City Mustangs, not other entrants, so no one "drove a long way" and there is never an entry fee for that show, so no one spent their money only to be beaten by my car.

4. Project Source Horse has been entered into other shows in other states that The Mustang Source didn't sponsor and she didn't win Best in Show or even Best in Class.

What kinda car show is it? The last car show I was at the winners were from 1975 and earlier. And Chevy galore.
