I am looking into getting an agressive CDC chin spoiler. I noticed that Moss Motors offers the chin spoiler in black as well as ready-to-paint. Has anyone purchased the black one? Especially anyone with a black Stang? How close is the color to the black Stang? Should it still be painted to match? Does the bumper cover have to come off in order to make the modification necessary to install the agressive chin spoiler? would it make more sense to just get a new front bumper cover with a built in chin spoiler?

I have the CDC aggressive chin spoiler. It's very easy to install. The modification you need to make is to cut out the honeycomb grille in the lower opening and the vertical supports as well. The lower opening is then WIDE open and the new spoiler slides right in the opening. You don't have to be careful and it can be done with a handheld knife-type hacksaw (I used a power nosesaw, about 2 minutes worth) because the spoiler covers the cuts you make. After that it's a ten minute, ten screw install. Easy. I bought the unpainted and painted it myself, but I understand the black version is textured, kinda like krinkle paint I think. That's why I stayed away from it, I like shiny stuff.
No need to remove the bumper cover or anything else. No other spoiler on the market is as cool looking as this. The CDC website has very poor pictures and leads you to believe the aggressive and standard look pretty much the same, they do not.
It totally changes the look of the car and I get tons of comments about it.
The last photo is without the spoiler for comparison. Photos 1 and 5 side by side really show the difference.
You will NOT be disappointed. Highly recommended. (Note: you will only about 5 inches clearance after this mod, watch those parking curbs!)

I have the black classic spoiler. It's a flat, textured black. Agree w/ 5-20 on the clearance. I've hit mine a few times (ramps, parking blocks) so you'll really have to be careful with the agressive.
I have the classic chin spoiler which I had painted gloss black. I didn't care for the black crinkle finish. This also allows me to touch up the finish every few years if required. I've had it for almost a year now without a single chip.
I also like it because there are no modifications to the car required to install it. No cutting required. It simply clips over the lower lip on the front fascia. A couple of screws and a bit of tape, and it's done.
I've only just grazed it twice. Not even enough to scuff the paint. It only sits about 3/16" lower, but because it projects forward, you've got to be careful.

OK, so I've added a few things to it. Check my Profile - too many to list here.
here is my pic with the black chin spoiler unpainted black
I love the look, looks like 69 mustang gt fast back, if you ever get it chipped all you have to do is buy some paint which cdc recommends and it just touches up. very happy with product and look.
It's such a small piece you guys might want to consider using the 3M clear bra they're selling at tint shops. I imagine that'll cut down on your repaiting by 100%.

Ordered the Classic from Moss. Great spoiler and easy to install. Mine was black, which is a flat black and texured. Looks alot like the chin spoilers on the Boss and Mach 1 from the late 60's and early 70's. Had it one for awhile as the flat black. Over the winter I sanded and painted factory ebony black and cleared. Also went a step further and got another lower grill and painted the gloss black as well. It looks great. Watch out for those cement curb stops.
Just wondering if anyone has tried to use this chin spoiler with the cervinis lower billet grille insert. Is it even possible? If so, what mods (if any) had to be made? Thanks guys.
If your car is lowered, it will be a bit difficult to drive with. I kept mine the textured black, it was easy to repaint with bumper/trim paint which CDC recommended. If I had a chip in it I would just sand it down and repaint it. I finally sanded it smooth and just painted it with the bumper/trim paint for a cleaner look, matched well with my shaker scoop.
Does anyone with a black stang have the cdc spoiler just with the textured black. Im wanting this to be the next mod after a hood scoop, but Im unsure if its worth the extra dough to get it painted to match on a black car. Any pictures greatly appriciated.

I won't say this is off topic, but related. A member of my Mustang Club had his CDC chin spoiler done using bedliner. It's nearly indestructable and has a similar texture to the pre-finished version. I can't find the picture right now, but I can dig it up if you're interested.

Interesting, Id love to see pictures. Im just looking into all available options at this point, I know I want a chin spoiler I just don't want to drop the extra dough getting it painted if I can avoid it.

It's not the greatest picture, but here you go. In his case, the texture is almost a perfect match for the rockers.
