Default Ipod users...Best auto accessory yet!

Hey all:
If you have an ipod this product is for you.
I just installed the HK drive and play. This unit recently price broke $50 which is why I decided to try it. It's still expensive at $150 but beats $200.
The unit effectively give you full ipod control while you keep yours eyes on the road. It consists of a small screen that is dash mounted eye level and a hand controller by the stick. For ipod users the controls are exactly what you are used to so it is very intuitive.
Installation is easy if you have a basic knowledge of 12volt installation and are able to remove a few interior parts (actually pretty easy).
The HK piece will play through FM modulation, or auxiliary input for perfect sound. I use the PIE adapter which makes use of my auxiliary button on the shaker 500. (a note, the PIE adapter is a $90 accessory giving you access to your auxiliary button on the radio, works well).
As another bonus, the HK unit has an additional auxiliary plug. This can be used for Satellite Radio in the future, for instance.
Overall, this piece is as cool as the ipod and I highly recommend it.

Looks promising. What is the model number (or is it simply called Harmon Kardon Drive and Play), and where did you pick yours up? I have the PIE box, which has actually worked for a record consecutive three weeks for me, and this additional accessory looks good.

I saw this in a catalog but if you still have to use a PIE adaptor then why bother?

The PIE aux box simply allows an auxillary device (such as the ipod) to be plugged into the factory radio. The HK device allows easy/safe display and control of the actual ipod. I do believe PIE also makes an actual adapter to be used in conjuction with their aux box which allows control of the ipod unit through the factory radio. But if it's as unreliable as the aux box, I'd rather get this HK unit.

The other PIE unit is just a charger/Ipod dock connector. The Shaker 500/1000 doesn't the capability to control the Ipod. The HK device is the best bet there, or if you just want to go from the Ipod's dock connector to the PIE AUX interface, Belkin makes a sweet little charger w/ an audio jack output for about $30

I just want to plug my Ipod into the radio and make any selections on the Ipod itself.

I've got the small i-Pod Shuffle and a TransDock... Works great. Just turn it on and go. If a song comes up that I'm not in the mood for, I just give the little dial a right-click. That doesn't happen often though... I've got great stuff loaded!
