How many miles did you guys put on your cars before driving them hard and going to the track? My buddy at the Ford dealers says drive it hard right from the start. That way the computer learns your driving habits and the car performs better. I've heard the same from several guys.
After I laid rubber driving out of the dealership I went straight to the back country roads around here and did a bunch of quarter mile runs. I have not had the pedal off the floor since, 54,000 miles later.
A red light light is not an inconvenience to me. It's an opportunity for a 0-35 run.

i heard that same thing so i was burning rubber away from the dealer on delivery day.
That's funny when I drove off the lot my buddy was yelling at me to "light em up" so I reved it up to 3500 rpm and dumped the clutch. Unforunately in my excitement I forgot to shut off the traction control.

That's the attitude I like to hear!:thumbsup
I've been hammering on mine fairly hard. hope to get out to the track on Friday if the weather improves. There has only been two half decent days weather wise since I got the new Gt 10 days ago and the forcast calls for rain through to Friday.Yuck!!

35!! You poor soul - most of the streets around where I am are 50-55 MPH limits, at least until you pull off into the residential. But yes, I look at the red lights the same way as long as there isn't a minivan in front of me!

yeah, I love how they zoom over into the open lane at a red light, and then they go slower than the damn car
they went around!!
Although, it's not just minivans that do that move - it seems pretty universal. But one I really love is when they go to one side of you at a light when they need to make a turn in the opposite direction just after and they really think I am going to be in their way or they are going to get by me!

I don't even know if my TCS works half the time. I was going backwards up my fiance's driveway and slipped off the clutch while at around 4k rpm and did a reverse burnout...lol. I had TCS on the whole time. Maybe TCS doesnt work in reverse?

I usually go 1,000 miles for break in, and change the oil at 1000 miles before doing anything much . . .

I did a road course track day 8 days after I bought mine. Didn't even have license plates on it yet.
It had 600 miles on it and didn't seem to hurt it.
I did change the oil the next week, though.
Won't show up until the engine has a lot of miles on it .. . You may have sold it by then, and the next guy will have to deal with it . ..
