Well I have a Silver Stang GT 2006 with 9000 miles Automatic (I didnot want}Ratter have had manual
It also has a Shacker 1000 (but wanted shacker 500 instead}
I got the Car for $27,780 INVOICE MSRP was $30,125
When I traded in my 2003 Stang GT they went by Kelly Blue Book as a trade in.
I thought that they may be making many more Stang Gts for the 2007 year?
I have seen in the SOUTH a few months back you could have got a Stang GT at Invoice because many dealers had 40 stangs and 15-20 were GTs in Stock.........
I am thinking of calling the dealers that have many 2007 stang Gts IN STOCK in the SOUTH in the next few months.(by then they should have a few}
And maybe I can get a 2007 at the Invoice price since they were selling at Invoice with the 2006s GTs...
Kelly Blue Book says my 2006 Stang Gt is worth $25,225 as a tradein.......
So I feel I am down grading from the Automatic and Shacker 1000
too a Manual and shacker 500.....
I feel the price at invoice should be at around $26,000 in the balll park at INVOICE?
So I feel I will get the new 2007 Orange Gt and I will lose no money if I shop around a bit..........JT
So, you want the full book trade value for your trade, but, you would like the new car at invoice? Good luck. I think you're being a little unreasonable in your assumptions. Maybe you can do it but I wouldn't bet on it.

hummmm most said that I could not get a 2006 last sept at Invoice,But the dealer that I called had nooo problem giving me the car at Invoice...I think I got a great deal at Invoice because there where Noooo Gts in the Northeast...
I felt at the time I got the car at $27,780 that I could live with the Silver and Automatic and Shacker1000....I am still happy with the car.....
But a few months back around Dec many of the Southern Dealers had 30 - 40 Stangs in Stock and 15-20 were GTs,,,and I called One Dealer and he said he would be more then happy to give me the car at invoice...
So Now I feel my cars in GREAT shape and I am sure Dealers will go by the Kelly Blue Book (Let Me Know if I am Wrong}
And If they go by the KBB I should get $25,225 as it says,and If the Southern Dealers get many Gts why would they not sell me the car at INVOICE as they did with the 2006 Gts???
I can wait and I am in no rush but I think maybe the Fever of the Stang Gts are not as they were with the 2005s....
And If I do find a dealer that will give me the 2007 Premium with Manual and shacker500 at Invoice.
Would yea think they will try to screw me with Tradein with KBB.......JT
You might want to strike an average between the Kelly Bue Book and the NADA pricing. That would be more reasonable, Kelly is a little high - NADA a little low.
Just wondering because most dealers gives you the Kelly Blue Book.....
And my cars are always in Excellent condition...
Everytime I make a trade in they always go with the KBB.........
Just my $.02 worth, for I used to sell cars...there are three levels of Kelly Bluebook pricing: 1) Retail value - what the dealer will sell the same car for; 2) Private party value - what you could expect to pay for if buying from a private party as opposed to buying from a dealer; and 3) Trade in value - what a dealer is willing to pay for it (commonly known as low blow book value). From my experience (and I have bought 24 cars inthe last 20 years), that last value is a pure guess. Rarely have I seen any dealer willing to even go that high as trade in value, for they never rate a car as high as you do. For example, 9000 miles on an '06 would be considered high mileage, even if it was bought almost a year ago. The dealer makes their money from the price of the car they sell you (inlcudes built in profit and anything over cost), your down payment, your tade in, add ons (like warranties, undercoating, etc) and from the financing. So unless you are very good friends with the dealer, and have a trade in they just simply have to have, I find it highly unlikely that you will find a dealer that is willing to sell you his car at invoice AND buy your car at KBB value. Unless you are refering to trade-in value for KBB, you most likely can get one or the other, but not both. If you do get KBB value (other than trade in value) and he sells you his car at invoice, make sure you give this dealeer proper advertisment and share with the rest of us.
I agree with the above stated. Most dealers go buy what is called dealer auction price. They look at the books at what dealers are paying for these cars at an auction. Let me give you an idea ... about 8 months ago GTs on auctions could be had for 21,000 - 22,000 used. Most GTs by that time didn't have a whole lot of miles on them .. so that gives you an idea. To add more proof on how bad they will take you on this ... my dad works for a major car dealership corporation that has dealerships across the US. When i traded in my 04 f-150 that only had 10,000 miles on it (35,000 MSRP, got it for 24,500 D-plan) ... i still only got 22,700 out of them ... (and the F & I guy is one of my dad's friends). Think about that ... that's 12,300 difference from MSRP with it being only 9 months ... now granted it was a truck and they have taken a hard hit on the market ... but, that's huge . Most dealers will be way lower than you think you will get for your car ... trust me. But, one thing to note for yourself ... you can always try ... you don't lose anything.

Try to sell it to car max first. I did this and they gave me trade in kelly blue book value for the car, and you dont even need to buy a car from them. they are probably the most honest car dealerships out there. www.carmax.com

Yea I am taking about Tradein value
When I wanted to sell my 2003 stang Gt and the dealer could not get me a 2005 Stang Gt but he still offered KBB Trade in value.
Up in the Northeast I still hardly ever see a stang Gt on a fords dealers lots.So If the dealer if he's small or big and don't get many stangs gts in why would he not give me what the car is worth and he can Jack the price up a bit on someone else....
Then I can take a plane down south and get a 2007 GT at invoice,I am sure if I make enough calls there will be a few dealers will have at least 10-15 Gts of their lots.But I would call and make sure they have many Gts around Sept and the end of the month.But I would call first and speak to the salesmanager....JT
just my .02.....Why the hell are you trading from an 06 GT to an 07 GT? I could see wanting to upgrade from a v6 to a GT but just changing up for the new model year? Cuz you want manual instead of auto? If you never wanted an auto why did you buy one? Manual GT's were plentiful in 2006 - plus they are less expensive for the dealer so why would they give you a better deal on an auto then a manual?........If you can afford to make such a ridiculous move then you'll be able to afford it when the dealership takes you to the cleaners - which they will. Why should
they sell you a GT at invoice then less then a year later buy your GT back at KBB and sell you a new GT at invoice? They are in business to make money and you are the kind of customer they don't want. If you want my advice, wait till the rainy season comes along if your dead set on this......Summertime is the time of year dealerships cant keep shiny new sports cars on the lot....Why would they take it up the crapper from you when they can sell the next guy that comes in the door that exact same car (and probably sell it for above msrp along with an extended warranty which i doubt you got on yours, lol). Im not trying to flame, its just car dealerships dont want you as a return customer, and no I dont sell cars, I fix computers for a living....My advice is just appreciate what you got :thumbsup
I am really in no Rush to sell my car but the thought was there for a sec.....
I have been driving Stangs Gts new from 1995,2000,2003 all with Manuals and always paid Invoice...
This is the first Stang Gt witha Auto that I have been driving in many years...
You know yea get bored and want new toys lol.
Maybe I will just wait till the 2008s come out and maybe there will be a special edition.....Jt
Around here there are plenty of 06 GT's sitting on lots, but they are all auto's.
