Good for you and welcome aboard... Lots you can do both performance and appearance-wise. Simple, fairly inexpensive performance mods are the CAI and custom tune. You'll find that's usually one of the first things S197 owners do. New mufflers, suspension parts, spoilers, stripes, body kits. The list is almost endless. Beware, once you start modding, it's tougher to quit than cigarettes! Have fun with it.
I agree with the previous posts, drop the Shaker 500 system and get an aftermarket one, they are usually better and cheaper. As for the modifications, I can tell you from experience, this is my first Mustang (although I have had it for a year now), and my intentions were to keep it stock. Obvioulsy that did nto happen. All the mods listed, I got, and have a few more not listed and and a few more to go. The modification bug is one very strong habit to break, and once it has you...you are gone. Enjoy and welcome.
if your not changing the whole exhaist, i would suggest chaning the muffler, that way you can get a better sound to come out of the 6, that was my first mod--got the MAC, im redoing the interior once i find a place, but ocngrats, yea my v6 was my first car/mustang 2, im 17

Some people recently told me that Mineral Grey isn't offered in 06 models. Do you have any production numbers on them?

I know exactly what you mean, when I am in my car I feel like Steve McQueen. I have been buying things here and there. Chamois, steering wheel cover, Armor All wipes, and the things I listed previously. There are so many things you can do to these and I'm starting to get caught up in it. I will also be getting a K&N Filter and rims and I'm sure I'll eventually get a lot done. But I'll take pics once all the things get installed. (Friday or Monday)
The stripes alone take a day and a half to get installed. Geeze I love my baby, only the best for her! Even when it comes to gasoline.

It is kind of cool because my grandpa bought my dad a Mustang when he was 16 as well. Hopefully one day if I have a son of my own I can continue the tradition.

I bought the Shaker 500 with all speakers on eBay for $300. I like it just because it is flush and is made for the Mustang and I don't need anything too good.

Good Luck with ur new ride!! Be Safe :thumbsup
I was thing about doing that and still not sure if I want dual or single. I think you are the one who showed me the video of the MAC, it sounded pretty clean. But I will be getting some exhaust work done soon, maybe Magnaflow or MAC.

Being a fellow teen mustang driver (19), got my 05 v6 new at 18, just traded up to a 06 GT a few weeks ago (you'll deny it now but in a year you will be drooling to do the same)
As for gasoline, you will be surprised to realize that for best performance it is reccomended that you just use plain ol' 87 octane regular unleaded gas. The amount of money you will be spending on insurance as it is and the huge gas prices anyway, its not worth it to spend extra on fuel. Even though the way it sounds is your not paying a red cent for the ride, lol........
Moral of my post is, just use regular unleaded... Ford reccomends BP (British Petrolium) gas, i just fill up my GT with 87 octance Cheveron (ok i lied, once i put 87 octane Shell gas in it - because my car came with a gas gift card) but dont do premium..........
