Default Day off + rain all day = painted calipers!

Well in day 3 of a 4 day weekend, I woke up late to rain. The forcast was more rain. Hmmm what to do???? I remembered I had bought all the stuff to paint my calipers a month ago and had not got around to doing it. What a perfect day to hole up in the garage and play with the stang. I used a Duplicolor caliper kit. I think it looks great now...I guess we'll see how it stands the test of time and heat! Here's how she looks now:

I used the duplicolor kit on a previous ride. It held up really well.

Looks great. Did you have to use more than one box of the caliper paint?

No not at all.....I only used half the can of paint for all four calipers. And that is with three coats....so there is plenty enough in one kit!

I used the Duplicolor Caliper kit. I picked it up at Pep Boys but Autozone, Kragen, Schucks all have them. Not hard to do at all. All in all it took me about 4 hours to do all 4 calipers including jacking, removing the wheels, prep/cleaning, and painting.

The only special equipment needed is patience!

Thanks, I will take a ride to pick up some.
Looks real good. Appreciate it.
I was looking into the powder Paint system, but that is way over my head to do, and the oven baking required a seperate old oven.
Thanks
D.

How long did you wait inbetween coats ?!?!?

I purchased the Duplicolor Paint Caliper kit as well several months ago. Unfortunately, I have not had the opportunity to try it out on the car. I'm glad to see that someone else has used the brand and has had good results.

I put 2 coats of that kit on. By the time you are all done with all four calipers they should be dry and you should be able to put the next coat on. I guess it depends on how humid it is.
