Thumbs up For those with multiple Stangs in the corral

Just curious about what motivates the multiple Stang owner. My wife and I get irrationally attached to vehicles and haven't been able to let a Stang go yet. It's not like we're rolling in money but once a vehicle is paid off I don't want to get rid of it. It's not really costing us much more in insurance for our 3 (refer to the sig) and I love each of them. Prime example... when we picked up Kate (our 06 GT) we had cleaned up the 96 GT Vert and took it to the dealer for a a trade. He was even going to give us a great trade-in value but we just looked at each other and couldn't part with her. Never giving up the 66 is a no-brainer. I never want to be in a situation where I'm going... "Man, I remember when I used to have a classic..." or something like that. The only downside is I would love to spend money on all 3 but can't really justify doing that.

What motivates the rest of you to keep your little 4 wheeled bundles of love?
Is there something wrong with us?

Have a good one, All...

yes, you have an illness. its mustang fever. there is no cure, you are forever infected. im just envious cause i only got one. that probably wont keep, cause i was torn between coupe and vert and still am, but didnt want to deal with the softtop. when the 09's come out and my 06 is paid off (or close to it) i will probably get a vert if they come with a retractable hard top. but the 06 is here to stay.... and someday i want a REAL classic stang. a 66-68 coupe or maybe a 69 fastback.... someday...

I agree. Don't sell. Mone is one thing but memories are another. My 96 is nowhere in league with your 69 but I'm sooooooooo glad we didn't ditch her. In fact, she now has a brand new top and I'm thinking of getting a light bar and har tonneau for her... maybe some rims and some engine work.

Keep that 69 and enjoy it. Maybe this thread was one Stang owner to another on a psychic level showing you "the path".

Hmmmmm... maybe I should find an old fastback somewhere... I could strip it down and then....

thanks guys. I dont need the money...I just hate i dont have the time to get the 69 out much any more...Its not the car you just jump in and ride as Im always worried about the "other" people on the road. cant even imagine someone running a red light or.... i know it can be fixed but this car is all orginal right down to the sheet metal, never been wrecked. Its hard to feel comfortable in it anymore. And an ungodly amount of money...well thats hard to turn down

I'm going to trade off my 1994 GT in the next few days for a 2005 GT, nothing like having a first year of each generation. One thing I wont miss is getting my 1994 aligned every three months due to design defect and normal driving... This issue appears to have been resolved on 1996+newer stangs.
