Default Anyone replace just the rear deck speakers and add a powered subwoofer?

Thinking of just replacing the 500's deck speakers for better mids & highs and adding a powered subwoofer behind the driver's seat like the Bazooka BTA6100. The factory door mounted subwoofers sound OK, but I'd rather move some of the vibration away from the door and my left pant leg. The vibration can be annoying at low speeds or at idle. Probably won't do anything with the 6x8 door speakers because they're just too close to the front seats to install brighter speakers. Any recommendations?

One more thing - if I want to use the speaker (not the preamp) inputs to the powered subwoofer, would I end up with the subwoofer wired in parellel with the left and right deck speakers, and what would be the effective impedance for each channel?

I would use the preamp inputs so you won't affect the impedance of the system. If the system is set to run at a certain impedance and you change it, the system might overheat and keep turning off. Especially if you parallel the sub with the speakers because that would cut the impedance on those speakers to half of what they are now. I changed my whole system and the brighter front speakers do not bother at all. Ofcourse compared to my two subs the front speakers are nothing to cover your ears for.
