Hey guys, help me out here. Im pretty close to purchasing a White GT and I would love to put black stripes on it. Problem is, I live in Texas and i already own a car with a black interior and it is utter HELL from the heat! How bad would a tan interior clash with the white car with black stripes? Any other cool color combos you could suggest to beat the heat while maintaing a style? I really like Black but ive sworn it off for as long as im down here. Also not a fan of the windveil. HELP!!
Im partial to the white GT with red interior and red stripes. No matter the color of the interior, it will have alot of black in it: dash, steering wheel, etc. So your black stripes would still go. If I had black or tan interior, I would go with the dark blue stripes.

MODS: Baltimore Street Mods 10' red stripes and red rocker stripe. window tint. K & N aircharger. Pony Package fender emblems. Added 18" Polished Alum. Bullitts Hurst comp shifter
It's just my two-cents worth, but I have a black interior, Panhandle of Forida, and it's nice and cool. I don't know if the leather is just well-vented or what, but it's hot as can be here, and I nver get into an overly hot car.
My wife's SUV has a tan leather interior, and mine's never any hotter than hers is. Of course, you have your own experience with black, so you have to make the call, but I'd at least take a look at one on the lot and consider it if I were you. That is, if it would help with your color scheme ideas.

The real key to beating the Texas heat is window tint. As far as tan interior clashing, it's a non-issue.
The black interior is not really black, its Charcoal...so that may help in keeping it cool, I have the red and am in Dallas too......it does not get that hot, even with the top down

I think I remember reading in the '05 production stats that white GT with tan leather interior was the rarest combination. Lke they only made 5 in manual trans or something.
I like the idea of the blue, but the black won't look bad at all.

Howdy Gone33. I am in Mizzou now but hope to move back to Texas one of these days. I ordered my 'Stang GT on 7/10/06 in White with Tan interior. I got the interior upgrade package which puts black inserts in the door panels. I saw a GT (red I think) that had the tan interior with the black accents and it looks really sharp. I don't think there is so much black in the door panels that it will be super hot. I believe the poster above, I had my dealer search the country for a white GT w/tan interior in a 5-speed and they just don't exist on the lot...
'05 Sonic Blue GT w/ '07 V8 engine, 5-sp, IUP, Beige leather interior, nothing else -
just the way I wanted it. (1 of 113)
OK, so I've added a few things to it. Check my Profile - too many to list here.

I have the white w/charcoal, I live in Arizona when
it's 110 outside it's hotter than you know what inside.
No matter the color the inside is at those temps, it's hot!
I found good quality hand towels to match the color
inside and use them to cover my steering wheel and drivers
seat, helps some. I just learned to reach in start the car and
crank the AC for few before getting in.
