Default ROUSH Supercharger Warranty?

This week I contacted ROUSH for a copy of the Warranty for the new ROUSH Supercharger with the 3yr/36000m warranty to your engine, and drive train. Yes you do get this warranty as stated, but there are several things we should consider:

1) Yes, you get 3yr/36000m - but...it starts from when your original factory warranty started! For example, if you bought you Mustang in Jan '05 and now have 10000 miles on the car, you would have half the warranty time wise (18 months) and 26000 miles left. Their full warranty starts at the OEM Warranty inception and NOT when you purchased the SC.

2) It MUST be installed by a certified ROUSH or Ford Dealer for the warranty to be in effect ($1000 to $1500+ cost to have installed). Also, a CERTIFIED installer can do the install for you, but they must meet certain requirements to keep the warranty valid. In other words, YOU CANNOT install it yourself if you want ROUSH's warranty, unless you are a certified mechanic (meeting ROUSH's terms in the warranty) or you have a friend that meets the requirements.

3) If your OEM warranty has expired (and none of us has reached that time wise, but maybe mileage wise), then you get a 12month/12000mile warranty covering the ROUSH SC only! Not your engine or drive train.

4) However, their warranty does cover all the major internal: engine, transmission and rear end components. Although, it was a bit fuzzy who you would get to do the repairs, but it seemed to read that you could get your ROUSH Ford or regular Ford dealer to do the work with reimbursment from ROUSH. This gets us into another area totally: if the dealer wants immediate reimbursment for any repair costs ROUSH will cover then you may have to pay first and get reimbursed by ROUSH later, or if the dealer is willing to work with ROUSH to get their money for the repairs....then no problem.

So, if you are not concerned by Warranty issues, then go for it! If you want a copy of the ROUSH warranty, e-mail them and they will fax you a copy.

This post is NOT to dis ROUSH, but to inform you of what you will discover if you decide to install theirs or anyone elses SC system. Be aware of your rights and what you will face when you install one onto your new Musatng. Talk with your dealer or a ROUSH dealer first to make sure you can get your install done correctly and reduce your pain down the road if a problem crops up.

I went into this in great detail with my ford dealer. This is what all my delays were about and after all that. Roush does not have a super charger for 07 gt yet. so I ended up getting a saleen super charger from the same dealer they do both. Bottom line was the car was not leaving the dealer until the supercharger was installed by them. The warranty is 3 years 36k miles. I can extend the warranty to 7 years or 70k for I believe $1460.00 This warranty covers from the top cover of the super charger down to the oil pan and everything in between. Also includes the rear. They would not cover or install, headers, cat back exhaust,373 gears or any other mod.Just a supercharger go figure.

Hope you upgraded your fuel injectors, otherwise you will be seeing your dealer soon for new pistons.

I did, I went with the upgrade kit, 39lb injectors, underdrive pulley, flash, air intake. Can not wait till I drive it. When the dealer got the car I drove it before they started the super charger work. Too bad for me I am about to go on vacation I will not be picking up the car till the end of this month.I hope time goes by quick.
