I am still stuck on one of the previous posts that states "because they (Mustangs) are mass produced"...
What a wild response. With the exception of a few exotics, and a few ultra luxury vehicles...ALL cars are mass produced. Techanically speaking even a car as rare as the GT500 is still "mass produced". But to flip that argument, Ford produces roughly 160,000 to 200,000 Mustangs (total) per year. While, I grant, that is not as rare as say only 10,000 or less being made per year, it is considerably less than what Toyota and Honda produce (at 600,000-700,000 Camaries and Accords per year) or what Ford produces with the F150 (around 700,000 trucks per year). Good luck finding a car that is not mass produced for less than $100K. I would go so far as to say, I would like to see some backyard mechanic build a car from scracth that performs as well as the Mustang and is as safe as the Mustang for less than the price of a Mustang. Things that make you go hhhmmmm!!!!!

Yeah, when it comes to bang for your buck, the mustang does win hands down. I also think the corvette is the best bang for your buck in that catagory (2 seater sports car vs. 2+2 sports coupe ..mustang)

I still own a 96' F250 extended cab long bed pickup with a 351cid, would not trade it for nothing,I have owned and driven 3/4 tons since 1977. and sincitystang your right about the number of large pickups and SUV's the problem is 75% of those drivers were driving little rice burners (GEO metro, civics etc.) and mini vans. Now they have a few extra bucks and own the large stuff and think they are on top of the world, and thats why you see so many in the ditch or upside down.
The most dangerous vehical on the road is a SUV with a woman at the wheel on a cell phone with a load of kids!
