On August 7, I took my Mustang to Bill Kay Ford in Midlothian, Il. for service. The engine was making a knocking noise on startup until the oil pressure came up. First they tried to blame the noise on my recent oil change, because I didn't use a Motorcraft oil filter. Then they had to change oil and filter at my expense as the first step in troubleshooting the noise. It was eventually diagnosed as a failed cam phaser. After the parts were replaced the mechanic started the car and it jumped timing. Now they needed to order more parts. At the end of 3 weeks, they needed a special tool(s) and had to wait to borrow one from anaother dealer. Then they had to replace the camshaft. Now the latest news (after 23 days in the shop) is that they need to order a timing cover. I have made six phone calls to Ford customer service in Dearborn, Mi. Today they are finally going to escalate my complaint to a customer relations "specialist" who will call my back by Friday. I am now waiting for an attorny to call me back so I can see what legal recourse I have. I do not trust this engine in my car anymore. The heads have been off and on 3 times in 3 weeks and the car still doesn't run. They keep breaking parts and having to replace them. I mean really, how come they have to replace the timing cover? Did they use the fine alignment tool (read 25 pound sledgehammer) on it? The dealer is obviously incompitant and Ford customer service won't do anything but cover up for the dealer. If you have lots of time you can read the attachment documenting all of the BS.
At the rate they are going they will be replacing the tranny by mid September and the rear end by October.
Good luck!

Ho man I feel for ya. What a shame. Sounds like the first issue was relatively easy to fix and it went down hill from there. What a bunch of incompetent boobs. Almost like a surgeon removing your appendix and ending up with open heart surgery.
