I dont think it was a real saleen but probably a GT outfitted with the saleen body kit. A douchebag looking guy in his all black copue and me in my little convertible sixer going at it. I pull up beside him wanting to compliment his ride because it was sweet looking but not even a stare from this guy. He just flew away. Didnt think he was blown becuase I didnt hear the 'charger. The 2nd light it was me and him alone head to head. Gone he goes! He probably though my car was a GT since I have the Pony package and had all my lights on. I usually dont like racing other people in mustangs but I very tempted to see what my car can take. This now makes me want to put a Vortech in my sixer and beef up the rear end and tranny. =) That was part of my day yesterday
Don"t worry about it, enjoy the car. I go thru the same thing but the other way, plain looking Gt on the outside except for the orange color. But A ton of power under the hood, saleen s/c and other goodies. I just look and smile when they pull up. Have not lost a race yet, because I never answer their challange.
Benz...a saleen IS a just a gt outfitted with a saleen body kit...they arent always blown and even if they were you dont always hear them...chances are it was a saleen if that matters...saleen or gt it would have went the same way for you...that guy was a jerk..i've never been disrepectful to any mustang
hehe, i know what you guys mean. Me and my friend made a list of cars that douchebags drive. Not in any partiucular order. Now, I am not calling everyone who owns a car on this list a douchbag. So please do not get offended. This is just from observation in our part of NY
1. Porsche, the much newer ones
2. Corvette, C4-C6
3. Ferrari
4. Mustang
5. Audi
6. BMW

Well look on the bright side, at least it is a Mustang trying to man-up on you or trying to show you what he has got...everytime I take my Stang out , I always get either a Toyota Prius and/or a minivan that feels the need to man-up on me. Amusing....really.
I am more amused by the friendly bouts of competition I have run into. In the last few months, I had a friendly bout of competition with a '04 GTO (I won), a '02 Camaro SS (I won), '04 Mustang GT vert (I won), and most recently with a '04+ Silverado Crewcab (I really won). In all these cases, they all wanted to prove something or show me what they had. In all cases I won (some just barely) and the other driver still gave me thumbs up, smiled and accepted defeat.
But those pesky little Toyota Priuses and minivans are not only ridiculous, but the drivers have been less than civil. Go figure.
Oh yeah, I have run into a few S197s who wont even look my way when cruising. Funny, I tend to get more thumbs-up, nods, smiles and waves from Vette drivers than I do other Stangers. Again, go figure.
yeah, that what i was talking about, why is all the hate and ignorance, dumb people who don't even know how to look cool. why were you racin a gt if u were a v6 exactly?

But the PRIUS and Civic drivers give the stink eye (probably because I am in a V8, and we all know how wasetful that is.) and act like they are too sweet for the buzzards to smell. Really makes them mad when I have someone with me and ride in the HOV lane. Like I shouldn't be there with them.
I have had a couple, who I swear will blow their little ride up just to get in front of me on the freeway. Ill be cruising at 70 +/- and will hear their hamsters wailing in pain trying to get in front of me. Cracks me up. We all know that if I didnt want them to get in front of me, they never would.

Benz-vettes...glad you made a disclaimer...because I do own a C5 Vette ('01 Coupe)...but I will tell you that Vette owners always wave to each other and we don't race each other...we go after those pesky Mustang owners!
Had a guy this morning in a Kia Spectra try to prove his manhood because when I pulled alongside of him at a red light his girl was checking my ride out. Light turned green and he stormed away to get on the highway.
Then once we were on the highway he was in the right lane and I was in the left. The guy in front of me was going slow, and I put my blinker on to get in the right lane. Of course, he speeds up so I can't get in front of him.
Then a little ways ahead the highway completely cleared out. I pulled up alongside him, slid my sunglasses down my nose a little so he could see my eyes. Looked at him with this "are you f'in' kidding me?" look, and punched it while still looking at him.
His face in the rearview was priceless.
