Well, since I don't have tools, I'd have to take it somewhere to get them installed. I know for a fact my brother can do it, as he builds mustangs, so I may buy them and then let him install with his shop friends.
The install is as mentioned above... easy, even for somebody not used to tools, you gotta have a few though...
I guess it could be done without lifting up the car but why bother?
I strongly recomend taking all four hangers off the chassis as I have learned (about 10 swaps) that is the easiest way over all. Yes it takes some time and effort to get your wrench and hand up there but compaired to trying to mess with it all the other way... well worth it!!
I had my JBAs done at Midas...dude there learned the hard way about the hangers. By the time he got to the second muffler he had it right.

Picked them up today. The 4" chrome tips are incredible. The mufflers aren't painted black, so I don't think that's a big issue. I can't wait to get these things on.
I'm so jealeous of this guy's car. He just got it lowered 1.5 inches. He's also going to sell me his excess CNL filter too for $25 bucks. Freaking insane man.
I just asked my friend if he'd help me install, since he's a friggin mechanic, and he's telling me that I have to have my stock mufflers cut off. If I'm not mistaken, aren't the stock mufflers also bolt ons?

Don't let him cut anything. There is no need. Save the old ones just incase you don't like the sound. Also after a few months if you still like the MagnaFlows take your stockers to a swap meet and sell them, you may be able to recoop your $100.00.

I have the 40s also. Very easy to install and sound is great.
I bought the PYPES VIOLATOR axle back t304 SS all polished like a mirror. Got them on eaby from Blue Oval Industries for 245 + shipping. They sound great. They are a pretty new company and are trying to get a dent in the market so compete with a lower price the the other 400+ companies.
Life time warrantee also. The wider mouth tips fill in the facia hole nicely also. in the pic it shows the PYPES stamp in the muffler, however mine came unstamped. I read that they either will be stamped or unstamped, not sure why. However it did come with a tee shirt and stickers.

How do these mufflers sound? They look like polished Flowmasters. They look good, I really like the polished look. My FLowmasters are basic black (I guess is good sinc emy car is black) with the big 4" tips.

I just picked up a pair this week. Nice quality. Sound is different (louder & deeper) since the Pypes are straight through design vs chambered like the Flowmasters.

I like the sound a lot. They sound great. Pretty loud and deep, like the prior poster stated, straight thry pipe with no chamber, they also claim 5 to 10 more HP. Pretty calm at idle.
They have them on ebay cheaper the you can get from the Pypes site itself.
One seller that I used and shipped immediately is Blue Oval Industries. You can get them for under 300 w shipping.
Yes they are fully polished head to toe (sought of speak).

Yeah bro, that's what I'm talkin' about! So the car took off like a rocket sled once you got them on, right? (It's OK if it didn't...I'm looking at them mostly as an aural upgrade.)
