Chances are, he left the scene because he never even knew he ran you off the road. I am not defending his actions, by all counts, his driving skills is in need of work. However, F-350s are big trucks and pulling a trailer makes it even bigger. I am surprised the police pulle dhim over. In Calif, the likely response would be since the police did nto see the situation, they can not ticket. Especially for reckless drving, since in Cali, you need to violate like three traffic violations before a reckless driving sticks.
Also, not to be the hated attorney, but I am pretty sure I could get him off both tickets, but fortunately for me, I do not practice in Maryland and I am on the side of any Mustnag owner (unless of course I am being paid by the other guy).
Oh, he saw me. I was right next to his window, which was down, when I laid on the horn. He just chose to keep on coming. And I had two witnesses who also stopped and reported the same.
Even if he gets off, he's still going to have to hire an attorney in MD (min $750) and take a day or two off work and drive down here from NY. Either way, he'll get his money's worth!
At this point, I'm ok with it. My car was ok except for the $120 I'm out for the alignment.

At the very least, take him to small claims court, if you have an address for the guy, so that way you can atleast get your $120 back.

Not sticking up for the drive but $hit happens, just last week I was driving my work truck(F-650) and was cab to cab with a semi and he pulled into my lane and ran me onto the dirt shoulder and I have an air horn!

Sure, I understand that. And, at this point, I'm focusing on other things rather than stew about it. Heck, I thought this thread was dead until JEB decided to resurrect it!
A couple of these, remotely mounted of course, would get his attention (and probably be highly illegal). http://www.megalaser.com/120mw.htm

stlwagon - I think you handled this situation brilliantly! Kept your cool, contacted and waited for the patrol so everything was recorded nicely, etc. I would probably also consider turning the alignment cost into his insurance - why should you have to pay for his idiot driving?
Sometimes I think people should have to apply for a special license (like a cdl) when they try to tag a trailer of any kind. I have a boat and flatbed car-hauler and while I can pull them without too much problem, I admit I'm not as proficient as I should be (but I'm learning).

Thanks... I really had to fight off the urge to be a complete jerk, but glad I did. At this point I'd just rather have no further reminders of the situation so I don't think I'll worry about the $120.

Hey, postwhoring can only be truly accomplished by ressurecting interesting threads!
Besides, this kind of thing happens to people every day. This thread should be a Monument for all of us.
