Have not heard the end of what? That i want to buy this car? I have been driving my family insane for the last 2 years. Even my boss and fellow employees at work know that i want one (and i don't even wear a mustang shirt)
Hey hotshot, I remember being young and wanting a car so bad that it didn't matter what I had to pay to own it. I won't try and talk you out of it, but I will give you some advice from someone who's been there and done that. Throwing away $417 every month on insurance is going to get old real quick. After awhile, having the car won't make up for not having the money to do the things that you want to. I don't know how much money you make, but when I was young I didn't make much more than $600 a month.
yea, i make more than enough to cover both the car payments and the insurance. I figure i will have about 1/3-1/2 of my monthly salary left after car payments and insurance have been paid. That is plenty for food gas, and to save a little just in case i need to pay my deductible in case something stupid happens.
Well, without knowing hotshot's specifics, I can attest to being able to work 40 hours per week while going to school. Back in my college days, I worked 40-45 hours a week (making maybe $24,000+ per year) and carrying a full load at school (15-18 semester units). Now I grant, between work, school, homework and working out (I had to stay fit), I had no time for anything else, so had I bought a car like my Stang back then, I would not have much time to enjoy it. But I could have afforded it. Plus, I was a late bloomer, I was at least 8 years older than the average college student.
I am a Line Service technician for the airport in the area. I also do go to school. I had 15 credits but i dropped one of my classes cause i didn't like it and it was too late in the semister to pick up another class. But yes i totaly agree. Between homework, school, and work (i don't work out), i don't have much free time. But i can afford to get this car.
I just did a little "Auto Trader" searching on a car for "Hotshot" and a used low mileage newer Mustang convertible is too high for right now.
BUT I think to save some money, have a neat car to play with, he can maintain, not bad on insurance, really well equipped - it is not a Mustang, but is something that has a dealer warranty.
1999 Jeep Wrangler, 42348 miles, black, stick, 6 cyl, has accessory hard top - asking $11,995. NADA says worth about $13,950. It is in East Hanover, NJ - Warnock Dodge/Jeep. Be sure to do a CARFAX if interested,
Hey, I tried.
Insurance on a jeep will still be expensive for a kid.
I can't believe some people are paying these ridiculous rates just to own this car. Anyone paying $5k a year for insurance is stupid, plain and simple. You might as well burn your money. Buy a 4cylinder and save that $5k per year. in 4 years you could pay cash for a used 07 GT.
Well I was stupid as a kid, but it's a good thing I didn't have money to burn.
I pay $890 per year on my 06 gt through Geico. That's 500/250 ded. with $25k/$50k coverage. I'm 33 with no violations, but my wife is a speed demon with two tickets
