what would i need to do if i wanted to get a 5.0 stroker kit and than SC im looking for around 600rwhp. will it stress the block too much? what would i need to do besides fuel, exhaust, CAI, and a tune?

SnakeEater611

What do you plan on doing with the 600+ rwhp?

I doubt that all that hp is street useable. If you plan on tracking with that much hp, the right stroker block can easily handle that power level, but you then have to consider upgrading fuel delivery, transmission, rearend, suspension, tires/rims, safety equipment (rollbar at least etc).

+1 Steve is right. A lot more to be done then just the engine, and it all depends on how you plan to use it.

I was gonna try that but I couldn't figure out how to get the dyno in and out of the garage.

SnakeEater if you’re doing research you may want to check out Steve's Profile and web page. He has a pretty extensive build going on.

Tough to stroke the 4.6 to a true 5.0 without some sleeving. Best you can do is 298-300 ci.

You don't need to stroke a 4.6 to make +600 RWHP.

You will however need a potent supercharger. I'm just upgrading my cooled Vortech unit to a T-trim head and adding a Paxton Intercooler... guessing I'll see mid 600's RWHP?

Block will be fine. Internals too if you build it, stroked or not. Obvioulsy, a longer stroke and posible sleevs will 'soften' the strenght of your block a bit, but not even close to be 'dangerous' if properly done and tuned.

Full fuel system. Dual pump, better lines, larger filter, fuel rails, 60 lb/hour injectors, maybe larger? I have that and have added a KB BAP for good messure and 'even' pressure.

Easiest (if you're not afraid of the feds) are OR LT's to fairly open muffs.

CAI, guess you need to look at you SC first... but you'll need one, and one with a very good MAF sensor....

Tune you will need one as well, and preferably a very good one.

Further more the rest of the drive-train will need to be redone; clutch, tranny (you may be lucky but for how long), DS, rear-end, plus wheels and suspension if you wanna stick it as I guess you wanna do....?!?

Why would you need a 700 HP car? If you need it you'll need to be able to stop it and handle it, brakes and more suspension parts. Not to mentioned a rollcage, helmet, firesuit, dry, clean, and even roads...

And after all that, if I had a redo it would be twin turbo... and yes, with LT's, just awesome!

You might need to look at that Fore Triple Hat upgrade at some point.

Yes, maybe, we'll see how it all works out with the T-trim, smallest pulley Vortech has and cooler. Maybe we'll aproach 700? But time will tell, dynoing here in 1-2 months.... END

And this my friend, is wrong. Sleeves are never the answer, a .20 overbore on an eagle stroke is 302 ci
