In an effort to separate the “wheat from the chaff”, I searched YouTube to locate all of the currently available sound clips (i.e., as of 4/4/08) involving 2005-2008 Mustang GTs whose ONLY exhaust modification from the OEM exhaust system was either (1) an axle-back or (2) mid-pipe back muffler system.
The purpose of this search/these sound clips (which do NOT involve drag strip sound clips but in some instances DO involve comparisons between stock OEM systems and “brand X”mufflers) is to try to isolate ONLY the sound of the axle-back or mid-pipe back mufflers listed so that those who are considering a purchase of this and ONLY these muffler systems can determine whether they “like” the sound of (1) the OEM mufflers alone and (2) any other non-OEM muffler system they might be considering purchasing.
A word of caution concerning the sound clips listed:
Aside from the fact that the listings (which are arranged in alphabetical order for ease of reference) may not be exhaustive of all available clips for the muffler systems involved, NO SOUND CLIP CAN ADEQUATELY REPRESENT THE “REAL-WORLD” (I.E., ACTUAL) SOUND OF THE PARTICULAR MUFFLER SYSTEM INVOLVED. ACCORDINGLY, IT IS STRONGLY RECOMMENDED THAT AN IN-PERSON TEST BE MADE BEFORE MAKING ANY PURCHASE(S).
NB: to go to URLs, open the attachment or save it to desktop/harddrive first; then double-click on URL listing and move to a different box; URL will then be "highlighted" and sound clip can be accessed by once again clicking on URL.
With the FRPP V6 dual exhaust system, including the GTA mufflers. Digital P&S camera in movie mode mounted on the rear of the trunk lid, close to the bumper, about 40ur inches to the right of center.
Dark, but fun, and the format lets you hear more than startup and rev.
