Question Opinions wanted on stripe color

Hey Guys and Gals,
As you all know, I have a black GT vert with the red interior. I have been maintaining the red/black theme trhoughout the car. My hood is being painted as we speak. I know I want red stripes, and I have even figured out what the stripes will look like. Where I need a little help is the exact shade of red.

I have seen black Stangs with torch red (very red) stripes, I have seen black Stangs with redfire stripes, and am I am sure there are black Stangs with other shade red (candy apple red, etc). What shade of red do you think will look good with my color combo and theme and why?

I have a torch red intake cover, and the valve covers will be powder coated in a torch red (or close to it) when that gets done. However, the redfire or candyapple red comes close to matching the interior. My family and body shop have recommended something close to redfire with a metalic pearl. Any other suggestions?

If any one has skills with photshop (or other equivilant program) could you post some pics of several black Mustangs with various red stripes?

MAtch the interior. Though I must question... why wouldn't you have done the plenum cover and get the head covers done in the Redfire to match the interior as well?

I'd say go with the redfire, or whatever red most closely matches your interior. You'll be able to see the two colors next to each other from the outside. The underhood stuff won't be able to be seen at the same time the hood is up, and vice versa.

OK, so I've added a few things to it. Check my Profile - too many to list here.

Well as of right now the valve covers are not done yet, they are the short list. The plenum cover was purchased before I had decided on stripes of any kind.

On a coupe I would suggest Torch as I think a matt stripe looks better on a matt car and there is no point to really match the interior, but on your vert trying to match the interior may look good.

There is one member in this forum I think who used a Chrysler Cruiser red colour to match his red interior - it was the closest colour he could find, though from memory that was on a Silver car. I'll try to find the colour.

+1... I think the redfire would look great with the red interior. I've tossed around the idea of changing to red stripes for the same reason.

Here are two black Stangs with red stripes, the one on the left is Redfire, where as the the one on the right is Torch red. Ignore the lambo doors and the particular stripe style. I am asking because I like both, but I want to be unique and I want it to flow with the car.

Here is a good pic of Redfire stripes. I am leaning heavily towards this color because I think it matches the interior, with my vert, my top is down 90% of the time, hence why I got a crimson light bar.

The lambo doors are just wrong in my opinion, but I digress.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and be a little weird. I say you should go metallic candy apple (if possible) with outlining white pinstripes.

I agree the lambo door do not work fo rme, but as I mentioned, I was using this particular car for the shade of red stripes on a black car. But again, do excuse the lambo door, for they are not in my project plans.

As for the white pinstripes, I did consider going with a silver pinstripe outlining the red stripes, but I am not sure if that is where I am going with this yet.

I think it would look pretty sweet either way you go (Torch Red vs Redfire).

I suppose one of the other issues that you need to consider that hasn't been addressed. Would you prefer your stripes to be Opaque versus Metallic ???

Redfire for sure, maybe even some metallic redfire to give it a little kick. Oh, and please don't let the stripes be too thin and placed too close together. That one pic of the redfire striped gt in the guys/gals drive way looks stupid, imo.

Thank you all for your opinions. I have taken all opinions and advice under consideration and combined with my original vison or plan for my project, the decision has been made. The particular stripe style, design, placement, color, shade, and whether it will have metalic or not have been decided and called into the shop this morning. I would tell you all more, but since I have to wait like kid before Christmas, it would only be fair that you all have to wait as well, so I am going to keep you all waiting until Friday evening when I get the car and take a few pics.

Again thank you for the opinions.
