Default looking for a good alarm system

As the title says. And also something not too pricey. I also hate it when they take everything apart as in the dash or door panels and such. Any alarm out there where you dont need to take apart too many panels? I am just afraid that whoever is doing it might f*&^ up, you know. Maybe I should just go factory alarm?>

I had a Viper Alarm 791 on my Explorer and I never had any problems with it. It is a bit more pricey, but I think they have some cheaper/downgraded models. And not to discourage you, but if you want a good alarm that will do it's job correctly, there will be some work under your dash and hood and trunk. My best suggestion is to find a qualified installer who has worked on Mustangs before and who you won't have to worry about working on your car. Sometimes paying a bit more for an alarm will save you in the long run.

I llike the factory alarm myself, but you schould be able to find a local dealer/installer who will warrant the alarm and the install for the life of the car. (hence no rattle problems) Maybe just don't choose the most expensive model they offer.

Good Luck!

Does the alarm that comes from the factory detect motion? Like if someone were to slice their way in through the top and get inside the car, would the alarm go off?

Hotshot - no it doesn't. That is a "convertible" problem. The time people cut into the car is when they see something they want. I put stuff in the trunk.

Happy with my clifford, but you get what you pay for. Proximity sensor dosen't add much to the price, a must in a 'vert. Any decent alarm install will be in the console, under the dash. if you already have electric locks, no door work. wiring is cut to isolate the body control module with diodes (at least in my 04). Don't try to go too cheep.

Well of course i am going to keep everything in the trunk but if they are going to steal the car itself then there are going to need to get in the front seat. Is it a big deal to install a kill switch? Cause if you have that then in addition to the proximity sensor, you'll be pretty well protected. Just need an armored tank to watch over it Maybe i can ask Peter Griffin to borrow his.

Most of the good alarms come with a starter kill and ignition kill, or as an add on
