The January '07 Motor Trend published an article that Ford is planning on releasing a '07 Bulit, expected to have 325+ hp, and an '07 Boss 302, expected to have 425+ hp. The Boss is expected to have only 1000 units produced. I do believe Ford is hoping to solve all of their financial woes on the backs of Mustang customers. Anyways, it was a neat article reporting that Dodge and Chevy are having a heck of a time trying to make the upcoming Challenger and Camaro compete with the base model Mustangs. Interesting.

I'm excited about this, reguardless of FORDs tactics they are bringing back some legends and uping the game in the new muscle car wars!!!!!
Do you really think there's a muscle car war? What other muscle cars are out there? The GTO? IF you ask me this is just the tip of the iceberg. Lets hope that Dodge and Chevy can get their s**t straight so the war for MIDDLE EARTH can begin.
Seeing as how the magazines are at least 3-4 months ahead (read behind) and that Ford anounced they will release a Bullitt in the calender year of 07' makes me believe that a Boss model will not be avaliable untill at least 08'.
With the new model change being in 09' to 10' the trend would be to introduce a Boss to bump interest in the last of the current bodystyle (look back to the 03' 04' Mach1).
That being said, I would so be all over a Boss Mustang it wouldn't even be funny.
I still would like to have an 03-04 Mach, you know, just to play with.
And I'm not interested in owning a Bullitt. But it will be cool to check them out at the shows.

I don't think a couple thousand Mustangs is going to help Ford any more than the 05 model did.

Well, the '05 model Mustang did put Ford in the green, or at least for a short time. I would not mind getting my hands on a Boss 302. I too may be tempted to put a Boss 302 engine in my GT vert. Well, if the Motor Trend article is accurate (I know, big asusmption), then Ford has some exciting things happening with the Mustang. The article also stated the Mustang is going to be more modern with each facelift or body change while the GT500 will remain more retro. Interesting thought.
I will agree, if and when Chevy and Dodge get there act together, and if Pontiac makes some drastic changes to the GTO, the Muscle car wars could get interesting.
Even when ford released the 2005 Stang the company was still rated as JUNK....
The stang did not help Ford, only thing it did was to buy a tad more time before ford goes out of business...
No more toys, the boss lady will have a cow for sure. But a crate motor down the line is a possibility.
