I see nothing glaringly wrong with fishingjts original post. If you have issues, recommend you take them offline via PM. Let's avoid be accusatory. Thanks.
So fishingjts...What does MRT say about the hood struts? Thought they were a no no with fiberglass hoods. And I did read the thread on YMR, but to ask again, did the hood fit prefect or did fiberglass work need to be performed? I think it looks great!!!
Hmmm... hood struts... yes, with certain types of hood struts that could be a problem... I have the MRT hood struts which simply mount using the existing (stock) bolts... no drilling required... So the MRT hood struts work fine with this hood... But your right, something that would require you to drill would probably be an issue...
As far as fit and finish... It had zero problems with fit. No actual fiberglass work had to be performed. Carl did have to put on a couple of coats of primer (we're talking 2 or 3... not 7 or 8). He also had to clean up the vents a little bit around the openings before he primed it.
Thanks for the compliment... hopefully my screens should be painted today or tomorrow... the black should look much better! LOL!

I don't think it's so much the rivets/drilling vs using the OEM bolt points, but more the pressure put on the middle of the fiberglass hood when closing it. For example, I'm using prolift struts which extend to the middle of the engine bay, however the other end mounts exactly where yours do. I would be concerned with fractures happening in the middle to rear of the hood over time due to flexing when closing the hood. Since you're using MRTs struts, is there any type of warranty against this happening to their own hoods?

You know... after I posted my reply i was wondering if you more concerned about the structural integrity of the hood...
Ok.... way back in my memory, I seem to remember Scott saying something about the MRT hood being very structurally sound... hmmmm...
You know... I think i'll take your question (great question btw... LOL) to MRT and see what they say... that way we won't be depending on my hazy memory... LOL!

Here is the response from MRT... (hope this helps!) True that any hood can be damaged by excessive loading....aluminum, steel,
fiberglass, carbon fiber etc. The MRT hood has been reinforced to accommodate
the MRT hood struts. So all is good in MRT land!!!!

Cute...So as long as their struts are used, they'll "consider" some type of unwritten warranty. Guess that's pretty solid answer...
Appreciate you asking the question.

Well... speaking from personal experience I know Scott really stands behind what he sells... if your serious and have more question I recommend giving him a call...
