I have been looking at the Ford racing axleback #5230-gta (not borla),I read that it comes on the Shelby and Chip Foose is using it also.Is this system louder than stock and where can I find sound clips??
Try Ninosport they sell it and have a sound clip, Just bought the 5230-GTA from them, it should be here this Wed. !!!!!!! They also have the best deal $265.00 free shipping!!!
It is just a bit louder than stock no droning and really nice chrome 4" tips.

The GTA's are what was put on the Shelby/Hertz models, I'm not sure if they were also used on the GT-500's. Supposed to be installed on the GT-350's coming out later this year.
They are only a bit louder than stock, but have a deeper tone. NO drone at all. I've had mine for a few months now & will keep these on.
Have them on my '06. Nice mufflers, better tone than stock not a lot louder but sound more "refined" IMHO.
I assume its all about sound, no HP improvement, right? Still interested though, is the modest change in sound worth $265 or is there a better aftermarket "sound"?

No HP increase, I like the sound of the GTA's myself. There are more aggresive & louder axle-backs out there, but most have the 'drone' around 1800-2200 RPM. Depends on if you want loud or not.I tried a set of IMCO's first, but the drone wasn't for me.
And yes, they are the mufflers offered in the FRPP pack.
I watched an FRPP muffler clip yesterday on YouTube. Not impressed at all. Decent rumble but only *slightly* louder than stock. Try spending the $130 for rolled tips welded to the bent pipes, available at your muffler dealer.
Great rumble and it sounds awesome when I start it in the parking lot. Tons of smiles and thumbs up. I really liked the SLP Loudmouths but when I saw what the things looked like , that's when I decided to make my own.
