Default Installed 3Dcarbon GT500 spoiler, pics inside...

What's up everyone, me and my wife installed the 3Dcarbon GT500 spoiler on my 07 Alloy and I must say, I love it! I was quite upset during install because we applied the applicator on to the trunk and then we set the spoiler on the trunk, I got ready to pull the tape off to stick it on, I asked her if her end was lined up and she said yes, but it wasn't. We taped it on crooked! Let me tell you, as soon as you put it on, that spoiler is on there and not moving! It took all we had to get that thing back off and back on straight, but we did.

Now, on to some pics!

Happy new year everyone!

Awesome... I almost got the same one but at the last minute I picked up a legends spoiler from Mr V. Did you get it from Atlanta Auto Accessories?

Also, not sure what you used to remove the spoiler, but I've found that thin fishing line works the best at cutting 3M tape.

Yep, got it pre-painted from Atlanta. The paint is flawless on it with no imperfections that I can see. I wish I could have done that with the CDC classic chin spoiler that's getting painted right now.

I used a razor on the end of a scraper to get the stock one off (barely lifting on it while cutting away the glue), but when we had to reseat the GT500 spoiler, I actually pulled about as hard as I could on it from the end and popped up. I'm suprised I didn't break it, but I was fairly pissed because I thought I would have to scrape all of that tape back off (not fun) and start over, so I just grabbed it and said to hell with it, but it came right off and showed no sign of flexing or anything!

I forgot about fishing line, I'm going to have to remember that next time.

I got my c-scoops, 1/4 scoops and hoop scoop all from Atlanta. Agree the paint is perfect.

I've been looking for a nice hoop scoop, where did you get your hoop scoop? Did your hoop scoop come prepainted?

I kid, I kid.

Seriously, you mentioned 1/4 scoops, what style are they? I've been considering them, but can't quite make up my mind on them.

The spoiler looks very nice. Good job !!!

I assume it covers the holes in the trunk from the old factory spoiler ???

That does look good. That tape is some serious stuff. Luckily, you didn't damage the part or the paint on the car when you took it off. But it turned out well.

OK, so I've added a few things to it. Check my Profile - too many to list here.

Yes, it mounts with the rear holes and covers the front ones. It was a very easy install.

I will definately double check everything if I have to do it all over again before mounting anything with that tape again.

I agree with stlwagon, looks very good. Since I already got the legends spoiler, I think I will keep it, but had I come accross this one first, I might have gone this way.

Stlwagon, I can not wait to see those pics, I am sure glad your were able to use that spoiler, for it was just collecting dust in my garage (and we all knmow how I feel about dust!)

Mr. V. I believe you are fibbing, I don't believe dust has big enough cajones to even come near your garage......................
