oh as for tire size griggs and roush runs 275/18 all around. i would like to do the same myself but I cant find out what offset they are running to pull that off. and for a daily driver i dont want it to feel like a brick or beat the crap out of my steering linkage.

I run 275s with no spacers on all 4. I think you should at least have 9" wide wheels in order not to have the tires bulge. On 17x9, 275 is the maximum width you should put

Ford built just 300 of the 2000 Cobra R Mustangs which were intended for serious road racing. They weren't concerned about CAFE mileage, and they put a 3.55 rear axle in the 2000 Cobra R with a 6-speed T56 Tremec manual. I think the 3.55 gears are best for road racing.

And my buddy Mark put 3.55s in his Cobra roadster kit car, which he set up primarily for road racing. (There is a picture of him in his Cobra roadster in my photo gallery.) With its terrific power to weight ratio he doesn't need anything steeper for the drags, anyway.
