Ok, I have had the Demolet CAI and SCT Xcal2 for a few weeks now. I started out with the 87 tune and loved it, especially the new shift points (rpm's climb a little higher before shifting). Well, after I ran my tank dry, I gave the 93 tune a spin. The 93 tune seems to shift more like the stock tune. I do feel more power than with the stock tune, but the shifting is not as agressive as it was with the 87 tune. This is basically making it hard for me to distinguish a difference in power between the 87 and 93 tune. So, I have it back at the 87 tune for now...it just seemed more responsive. Is the more agressive shifting of the 87 tune just psyching me out? Anyone have any thoughts? I was expecting a huge difference between the 87 and 93 tunes the way a lot of people have commented on here, but honestly I think I like the 87 better. Anyone else experiencing this or have I plum lost it?

Who did your tune?? You could ask them to compare the shift points between the two. Sounds like there could be room for some tweaking.
I ordered from Demolet tunableinduction.com. So, I'm not sure if he does the tunes himself or if he has an affiliate? Does anyone else have more experience with Demolet? I am in no way complaining. I just wish the 93 tune had a shift pattern closer to the 87 tune.

I forgot about the user adjustable options. Maybe that is the ticket, I'll give it a try. I have not used any of those settings yet.

I just bought a xCal2 from Bamachips and the 93 octane torque tune has soilid shift points. I plan to try the performance tune this weekend.
Try increasing the shift pressure to like 10 percent, it should give you a solid jolt when shifting.
Hi...I don't understand how this "Tune" system works. How do I "buy" a tune.....and what are the flash devices? Do I need to buy a flash device, and then pay for a tune over the internet, download it into my device, and then upload it into the car???

Totally in the dark here
Thanks.
Ok, a "flash device" is simply a hand held tuner such as the SCT Xcal2 (preferred by most) and the Predator. When you order one of these it will come with tunes already on it (most of the time) it will usually have 3 tunes, one for 3 different ocatanes (87, 91, 93 etc...) You can also replace the tunes on the devicce with tuines that you can but from other sites. They will email the tune to you and you will load it onto your "flash device". The SCT Xcal2 for example has three "slots" for tunes. I ordered a tuner/CAI combo where the tunes were made with that specific CAI in mind. They take a mustang and slap the CAI on there and then put it on a dyno and crank out 3 different tunes (in my case 87, 91, and 93 octane tunes, you can also get an 89 from some sites). When you plug in the tuner/flash device to your car it will swap out your stock tune with one of the tunes on the device, so for instance if I loaded the 93 tune (which I did) my device will now have the 87, 91, and stock tunes stored on it. It's a merry-go-round swap out deal. It's done this way so you can't tune all your buddies' cars thereby ripping of the tuning company (basically like burning CD's for friends). Once you use your tuner for the first time it will lock in your computer information so you can only use it on that car. If there is a place nearby that has a dyno and does custom tuning, then you can take your car to them and have them create a TRUE custom tune to put on your flash device. Hope that basically sums it up.

Did you get your tunes tweaked? My tuner from Bamachip came with the 87 performance, a 93 Torque, and a 93 Performance. The performance tune seems like it doesn't really kick in until 3000 rpm. The torque tune seems to be there from the start and really makes a big difference a low rpm and on up into the higher rpm. It is the one I perfer since I do a lot of city driving.
Has anybody ran the data loging to their laptop? You can get a ton of information.
No, I didn't do any tweaking. Just removed the speed limiter. It's funny you mention the different tunes you have, since I was just thinking about getting the 93 torque tune from bama. Really just looking for a good balance of performance and mileage. With the tunes I have, I love the shifting of the 87 (not necessarily "harder" shifts but just in the higher rpm range) but I like the gas mileage of the 93. I can also tell when I really let her run that the 93 does get up to speed faster. Sooooo, I'm sticking with the 93 tune (I've gotta stop flip-flopping octanes anyway so i don't screw up my engine). That 93 torque tune sounds like the ticket maybe. I would not mind losing a little off the top end for low end performance since i do mostly city driving (granted I live in a very small and uncluttered city with low traffic). I really don't ever get above 80mph but once in a blue moon so top end does not mean that much to me. It's just not worth always wondering, "is there a cop sitting around that curve?" Learned my lesson once already. So bring on the torque! How are you liking the 93 Bama Torque tune?

I love the 93 torque tune. Major difference in the lower to mid power range. I think the 87 tune shifts too soft unless WOT. The torque shifts are great. Nice firm feel in normal driving. Rock solid in WOT.
