Thanks, I find that I can usually get through the snow, just takes a little time, of course all of the SUV's get very impatient I just may have to try those. Do they come in 18"s?, expensive?
Yesterday I had to take my wife to the airport after our 6" snowfall the night before, guess what vehicles were off into the ravines? SUV's

I noticed all we see on their rooves (roofs?) are brand new, 4x4 trucks. I cruise by, sedately, in my RWD sports car, on summer tires. I always want to ask if they want a lift or pull over and pull out a tow strap. LOL! That's just a little too much mockery.
Like the Hyundai commercial where the little 4x4 pulls over to help the stranded 18 wheeler. Hooks up the tow strap and casually says to the stupefied driver. "Make sure it's in neutral." The disclaimer at the end of the ad says not to do that.
I've been driving a Mustang year round for the past 6 years. I have little to no problem with doing it. I've just gotten good at it.
I think that maybe after you had your 4x4 for so long you were just used to having a 4x4 in snow. Meaning that with a Mustang you just gotta drive differently. Sounds simple, but I know a lot of people that just couldn't think of doing what I do and driving in the snow with a Mustang.

I take traction control off when I drive in the snow. I want the rear to slide out. I love rear wheel drive. I have Michelin X-Ice on my GT and they are great. Just slow down when driving in snow. Take off slow, turn slow and don't press gas while turning or the back end will kick out unexpectedly.
Snow...one of the reasons i am keeping my '03 Explorer!!! Hopefully my Mustang will never have to see a New Jersey snowstorm, or the salt that follows it!!!
Snow, the main reason I keep my 05 Expedition. I am with you Stndbck.

bought a $700 beater toyota 4X4 when I got my vert in the fall of 05 -- drove it in the snow exactly one time - limted slip w/traction control and snows work just as well and I get to drive my stang! Not at that point in my life yet that I can afford a garage queen -I hope that when I am I still have the desire to drive it more than not.

JEB - snow is that pink stuff you see on the weather channel radar over the northern states. It also causes disappearance of milk and bread if it appears within five counties of you.
At least around here.
