DONT DRIVE YOUR MUSTANG IN THE SNOW EVER!
Ive been driving a 4x4 truck since I got my license about 4 years ago and obviously never had a problem in the snow. I just got my mustang about a month ago and not until today did I have to drive her in an extreme northeast snow condition, an ice storm to be exact...haha. Now I can understand why the rents were trying to convince me to get a car with 4x4. Nevertheless, even though I only lasted about 5 minutes until I turned around and called out of work...I will never regret the fact that I drive a mustang.
pointless post, just thought i'd share

My truck has open diffs front and rear. Back in '86 you couldn't get factory limited slip on the front anyway. My Mustang has LS so the same number of wheels are getting power. Except for the lack of snow tires and that my truck weighs 2,000 pounds more, I would put my Mustang up against my truck anyday. It does great until we get about 4+ inches of snow. At 5 inches, I would seriously consider not driving the Mustang.
Wet snow is by far the worst. Dry snow and it really seems fine.
Plain and simple I will die first before I drive my car in the snow.

jsut thought id add my thoughts this car never fails to amaze me..i work in laurel maryland, last night we had a ice storm which caused havoc in the city...before i left work last night ( in my 06 gt )
i had a lot of fun in the lot drifting and practicing slides and panic stops also taught one of my employyes..who btw is also a mustang owner although hers is v6 how to control and handle the car in snow and ice...btw she made it home fine.... on my way home it was what seemed to be ICE falling from the sky....very dark and this car went thru this crap with no severe problems...as a matter of fact it takes me turning off the tcs to even get to go a little sideways....now i know that a lot of us have a beater to drive in this weather i also have a 4x4 escape...but I do prefer to drive my car.....also with my job i can take about anything i want to drive ath the dealership...so my point is this is NOT the sled that the pre s197 were

I hate looking at my baby when she is covered in salt. Its only been one time and I almost had a heart attack...haha. Living in the northern jersey area sucks for a solid 2-3 months for stang drivers.

take off the all seasons and throw a couple of Blizzaks on the back... you'll be golden! LOL! I've up in Saginaw... I get around great with the Blizzaks! Was out last night in 4 to 6 inches of snow... no problem..

How does your supercharger deal with the snow as far as controlling torque? I would think your would have a hard time keeping from spinning with the additional "right now" power. Also slipping when you let your foot off the gas, with the increased compression?
Blizzaks the way to go then?
Hmmm, your sig line makes it look like your Mistress is getting blown by Vortech

Well, with the centrifugal supercharger the boost comes on a little later (just over 3,000 RPM) and builds up very smoothly... So I have no problem controlling the torque with a partial throttle... Letting off the gas is no different than any other car due to the surge valve...
When I comes to snow tires, I am sold on Blizzaks! I had them on my GT and drove through some incredibly harsh Mid-Michigan winters! It was not uncommon to go through 6 to 8 inches of snow!

Just the back two?

On my GT i did all 4 corners.. this time I just got 2 for the back and I'm running the stock all seasons up front... But now that you mention it... the stock V6 tires are fairly skinny 215's which are actually pretty good at cutting through the snow... I have had no problems getting around with Blizzaks just on the back...
