"A 14-year-old boy was killed and three youths were critically injured in an impromptu street race in Riverside that ended when a car filled with teenagers slammed into a light pole late Sunday night."
"The most publicized was a crash in October in which a 16-year-old boy, who was allegedly racing a 17-year-old friend at more than 60 mph, lost control and drove onto the sidewalk on Olivewood Avenue. He killed a 36-year-old woman in a wheelchair who was on her way home. Her 14-year-old daughter witnessed the accident, police said."

then again, i guess the tracks arent so with their emergency crews either...these brave men can attest to that...and those are just some of the professionals that died at the "oh so safe" track...i can go about the track as long as you can...and i dont think either of the TWO you mentioned died at a street race rally...maybe we should rant about the number of deaths caused by drunk drivers next...or maybe the number of deaths caused by drowsy families in minivans...or maybe the number of deaths caused by people running late for work...or maybe the number of deaths caused by ice falling off of airplanes...or maybe..........
Perfect, lets compare people who race for a living and accept that it's dangerous. All those pro drivers died in 10 years, holy smoke!! We have that many kids die on Friday night here in Cali. If these professionals with all their practice and safety devices die, then of course it's ok for kids to race on the street without experince or safety in mind and who really cares about the innocent people that die.
Please explain that to the 14 year old without a mother.
Oh and because someone drives drunk you have the right to race, oh I understand now.
Yepper........ignorance is bliss. Wake up!!!!
Oh it doesn't really matter because of global warming, anyway!
My final post in this thread!! Say whatever else you like....you're entitled and you're wrong!!

200 mph on the street is just plain nuts. And you're proud of this accomplishment because...???
i was on the highway at about 3am racing one of those suzuki 1400s. the thing had a turbo never see a turbo on a bike.i was driving my friends twin turbo vette 1004rwhp. crazy was the guy on the bike i had a cage all around me he had cement.the last time i look at the speedo it read 202 and i slowed down.took about a mile and half to get there.not the smartest thing i ever did but don't like losing.

Its been nearly 5 months and i finally met this kid last night. I heard a stang start in a parking lot a bunch of us were hanging out in and then looked at the car quickly from about 100 feet away and then ran over to him. Asked him if he had ever raced a black s197 and at first he was like no i dont think so and then i said what road and hes like yea their was one time. I told him it was me and he was like dam u blew by me. He said at first when i came up on him he though i was a 6 because of my grille. I was almost right on my mod list, he has CAI, SCT by brenspeed, exhaust and 410's. Cool kid, I hope i get to talk to him again soon and show him my car since i didn;t have it last night.
Also a funny thing, my twin brother walked over and the kid said i know you and then my brother was like yea i dusted you also in my sti. My brother always neglected to tell me that because he ran that saleen extreme on the same day and that was a better story

It's nothing new, but it is a significant aspect of traveling in motorized vehicles. Everyone should be aware of it, it should influence your behavior on the road and track.
I'd like to suggest that the, uh, fellow who went 202 mph and justified it by saying "I don't like to lose", is lost. Sadly enough, he's probably beyond saving. Seems a shame, but there you are.
