Good luck my friend....it has the right look to compliment any ride. I am curious about the the water blocks or such (I know not that my car sees water falling from Heaven or rising from the earth).
Oh yeah, my bad on the hood scoop remark, I guess I did not read this thread carefully, I was under the impression you ariginally thought it was a hood scoop as oppossed to a hood, but then I reread it and retract that thought.
LOL... I thought you may have had a cocktail too many out there on your trip... I figured you didn't read and assumed...
Here is what one of the sellers say about water (he too is calling it a hood scoop...??):
"
Our car hood scoop designs are made to be driven in all weather conditions. We have designed catch plates to block the water and not the air. The water then flows through built in channels to drain holes away from the engine.

There are steel bolt paltes installed in the hood anywhere a bolt if needed,
basically the latch and hinge areas. There is no need for hood pins, but you
can add them to the hood yourself if you want, but they will be just for
looks. The cowl is approx. 4". There are no vents in the back of the hood,
we need that area to properly bond the hood together. The ducting runs over
to the factory airbox location. There are correct water drainage and
barriers built into the ducting, drainage comes out in the front and rear
corners, where it won't hurt anything. There are corresponding holes in the
top and bottom of the hood for your windshield squirters, basically where
they are on your factory hood. The only hardware needed is reused from your
factory hood, factory latch and factory hinge bolts.
"
So now we're down to working out a price and shipping... I'm not holding my breath... sigh...

Sounds good on paper. So you going to pull the trigger on this one?
That's the plan. We'll see what they can/will sell it for... am still waiting for word from my two contacts... will keep you posted and I'll get one of the two...!!
Edit; Got the price from one, about the same as the RKS... I'm leaning towards this over the RKS for the water bariers and drainage, plus the higher cowl should look meaner...?? I just wanna know that the cowl WILL NOT bow at ANY speed...

Okay. Got a deal from the manufacturer and it's on the way!! YEY !!
Should be here by end next week and on a few days after that!!
I'll post info and pictures when done!!
Here is the only one they have...
they are saying no hood pins are needed?? That is the main thing holding me back from getting a new hood...I do not want to pin it down.
Where are you gettin it from????

I told them I was suicidal.
They got all excited and asked if I could drive a truck.
kj..that is going to look awesome on your ride. If you truly do not need pins, I am really going to get jealous.
On another note, for those who have gotton the CF hood, have any of you painted it yet? If so, post a pic, I have seen teh CF hood sin their natural state but not painted.
They said (and we're close as in a buisness relationship) pins WILL NOT be needed! When I questioned the price, I cannot mention numbers but supplier cost is high, retail is higher... Since I'm helping to hook up MD as a suplier I got a deal, still pricey! They use A LOT of material in their hood, all the best avail. Cost to make one is much higher tha I would have guessed! Same go for quality control they REFUSE to sell not perfect hoods for less on Ebay etc. because of the cpy name!! The thinking is one is crooked, or become corooked, or one cowl bows to the point the paint starts giving the cpy name is in the drain... good thinking if you ask me...
I said my trap speed is over 120 and I am hoping to do over 150 at the race way and I will be POed if it bows or flies off... he said it will NOT fly off! The reinforcements around the latch and the hinges are STRONGER than stock as they're STEEL! And if you go fast enough to break that steel plate outa the glass fiber kudos to you...
In regards to bow he said that +150 has not been tested but close to it... Also that any bow momentarily at that speed would do NO damage...
I already have pins so I'll use those because I'm a nerd blinger and like them... plus better safe than sorry!!

Sounds like you may have found a real dream hood. I am going to have to use pins myself. I need to quit traveling so I can shopping for them. I can not wait to see your hood when it is done.
