Default how to get into the 10's

The other day was my first day at the strip and i wasnt dissapointed but I know my car can do better. I ran a 11.9 and then wanted to make sure it wasnt me so i let a friend of mine drive and he as well ran an 11.9.

Though we did have 12.5 inch wide wheels on 28 inch tall slicks with my 3.90s it was not the right set up at all. I would launch and hit the wheel wells.

My question is though how many of you are in the tens and what are you doing to get into the tens. I want to keep my car a stick not go auto and i have 545 rwhp which should be enough power but agian these cars are heavy... I have a race clutch and alum flywheel short shifter... we had it on slicks it did hook good too... any ideas what it takes to get these cars in mid tens

I would start by puting it on a diet. You could get the new radiator support/ swaybar delete, I think that takes like like 20 or 30 pounds of the nose. You could do a rear seat delete and get some racing seats. That would save alot of weight. With that kind of time though, you will have to start thinking about a rollcage or you will only be making one pass. Just something to think about! Sick car by the way!

yeah we plan on doing some weight reductions as well as a full cage... the next planned mods are going to be long tubes x pipe (off road) and 15 lb pully.... My buddy just pulled a 10.2 on a turbo ss with a stock block. I know i wont be able to compete really with out going to race gas but i want to be able to get close

I think I could get into the 10s on just a race tune and good air.

Can you post up the 60'/330'/660'/1000' times, as well as your mph at the 1/8? That would tell alot as far as what is happening---and tell us what you would need to do to get that 10.99

What Paul said. We can't tell anything with just an ET. Except you're driving around an 11 second car. Welcome to the 11 second club.
