a friend of mine at the airport has stated his 2006 charger r/t can beat my 2007 mustang gt. he's reason is. he has 345 horspower and i only have 300 horsepower. both cars are bone stock. mine is a 5 speed and ofcorse his is a automatic. he won't listen that i'm 2000 pound's lighter and that more than enough make's up for the horsepower difference.just a quick poll should i waste my time and race or do i not stand a chance?
if you race make sure you be safe or do it at a place were it is legal to race like a track and then smoke the hell out of him I think the stang can take it i have a 07 gt my self almost bought the charger srt8 with the 6.1 liter that has 425 horsepower but I decided not to because it was 38000 compared to 28000 and the gas mileage is teriable on it I heard in the single digits and it just looks like a regular 4 door car mustang looks way nicer and built better i think.

you are nowhere near 2000 pounds lighter but its no contest anyway...when i first got my stang my bud got his charger rt and we settled that one quick....your gt can eat his rt all day everyday
You can beat him. A friend with his 06'Charger R/T will never run me again,it was a $50.00 bet and I took my wife to dinner on that win I did however lead him to believe I had 3:31's,the tag is still on the cover.
on a closed course, using safety equipment, blah, blah blah
and then beat him again!!!!!!!

My first kill was the day before yesterday, Yellow RT with vanity tags. I never street race, just romp on it now and then, but we were setting in traffic and he's power braking next to me(several times). First straight I came up next to him doing 45 we both dropped it, I put two car lenghts on him really fast.
I've had the car six months and let a few cars screech off in a quater mile run, so I don't feel to bad. I had an Eclipse almost crash himself the other evening trying to herass me into a race.
You know what are pretty fast are those Jeep Cherokee SRT8
5.2 to 60 and 13.5 1/4, not to shabby. But 12 city and 15 highway makes me puke....

I actually went to look at an SRT 8 yesterday as I am sick of all the problems with my Mustang. (its in the shop again and they gave me a loaner). The sticker was 45k as it had all the bells inc. a ridiculous gps nav. It was extremely comfortable and roomy but only available with automatic and worse than that-- 4 doors--yuuck. Still waiting for the 425 hp hemi Challenger to come out next year.
