Certainly some good testimonials here ! As for the Shaker 1000 audio system I guess I will just have to find one at the dealer that has that option installed so I can listen to the difference. The 1300.00 upgrade doesn't seem that much to me, as I have spent 2000.00 - 3000.00 for aftermarket upgrades for a single car in the past. So to me, 1300.00 sounds reasonable if the audio quality is a decent upgrade.

When I bought my Acura 2½ years ago, the Mustang was my 2nd choice at the time. While I still love driving my Acura TL, I was getting the itch to drive something more in line with a typical sports car. Maybe it's that mid-life thingy....lol. Anyway, since I have put far less miles on my Acura than I have put on my cars in the past I thought that I might take advantage of the much higher trade-in value it has. Usually I have put on nearly 25,000 miles/year but this car has much more average mileage....38,100 miles in almost 2½ years.

So anyway....I am just kind of on a whim right now. I may wind up keeping my Acura...I have a couple of mods on it like aftermarket rims and painted brake calipers.

I really wish I had enough money to get the Mustang as my Summer car. You know, kind of like having a Summer house on Cape Cod...lol. I mean I could raid my investment account to buy one, but I have a feeling most financial advisors would recommend I not do that....lol.

But thank you all for all your feedback ! Keep it coming, I love reading what you have to say about your Mustangs

I would recommend you spend some time reading the threads.

Most people here would highly recommend them. Very few people here have not been happy. Some of them I think would not be happy with anything.

I LOVE mine. I sometimes miss my truck, but only until I step on the Loud pedal.

I would say drive one, and anything else comparable in price for the same type of car. There is no comparison in my opinion, it's the Mustang.

I love the "my color" thing. Yes, it's a novelty item. But, I love it nonetheless.

Mine is a nice deep, bright, blue....

I don't mind not having the standard, non powered passenger seat...

I never ride shotgun in my car.

The shaker has had many issues experssed here in the past. Search on "Shaker" and you'll read all about it.

Personally, I think you can do better with aftermarket, but sound is also a personal taste thing.

As far as color...
They all look great, but everbody knows that Yellow is the fastest!

Default Two words, California Special

Not that I'm biased here, but after seeing some of the comments, CAL Special Pkg. addresses some of the nice options mentioned here:
  • Power Passenger Seat
  • Seat warmers (yes, I guess I'm a baby and realize this is a "musclecar."
  • 18" Polished Alum. Wheels (ole' school style baby)
  • Shaker 500 (The 1000W version takes up too much trunk space).
Also, recommend white, for obvious reasons... look at that avatar! Isn't she beautiful.

I did not get the shaker 1000 because it seemed a little pricy to me for a couple of speakers in my trunk and I am very satisified with the sound that the 500 produces. I have 20's on mine and am very happy with that decision because I belive that's what really sets my car off. But as someone already sed rims are a very personal decision because thay make the largest impact IMO on the wow factor of the stang. I also have the my color dash and have changed it maybe 10 times in the 2 1/2 years that I have had my car but again it's the "you can change that?" comments that I like, currently mine is pink as far as color I went with the redfire...I ordered my car in 04 and did not have the opportunity to see the LL or the windviel blue in person and played it save by picking a color I already knew what it looked like...if I had to do it over on the color I would prob go LL but I don't see that many redfire's out there either....I like the originality of the colors...but I will say you can read all this that you want but you need to drive it....one spin around the block and you will be wanting to know where to sign!!!

I have loved both of mine.. I think the shaker 1k is a bit overpriced go with a 500 and upgrade if you want from there.

I think the Windveil blue is really the best looking color. I do love my black one though.

I think if you have ever enjoyed and older car, pre 75 you will appreciate the Mustang.

My Color Is COOL . I Like It. Only wish it was extended to the radio and other non-gages dash lights.

Best Pony Color: REDFIRE of course. Does the Stang come in any other color?

What I would change.... heated leather seats were not available during my year A rebate would have been nice. As would the 60,000 mile warranty.

255s instead of the 235 series tires, stock.

Louder exhaust would have been nice, stock, but I probably would have changed it anyway.

A faster tune on the CPU.

Other than that.... it's a beautiful car! See the pics? Yes, it's that shiny. Black is my favorite color for the new Mustang, but a red convertible looks really cool.

Here's a video of what the exhaust should have sounded like, from the factory!
and yes, that's the sound of me chirping third gear, at 65 MPH.

Another "option" no one has mentioned is the GT option.

Get that.

The Interior Upgrade Package (IUP with My Color) is great I love the chrome appearance of the interior and the option of changing the color of the gauge clusters.

I also really like the Interior Color Accent Package (ICAP). Which in 2005 only came in RED. But now it's available in Chamois, Red, Black, Dove or Parchment.

I don't know if the Sirius radio or Navigation System is worthwhile. But I certainly wouldn't pay for the Shaker 1000. You can get a much higher quality radio at a cheaper price as an aftermarket mod.

The power passenger seat is a must that wasn't available in 2005. Nor was changing the gear ratios on the rearend.

We just got the California Special. Black with black stripes (not the white stripes). My wife misses here outside temp gauge, but most of all the autolamp. It has power passenger seat and seat heaters. The only thing it is missing for me is a personal valet to wash it and the others.

BLACK is the only color! It doesn't matter how expensive the car isn't it always looks more expensive than it is.
