cekim.....very nice looking car. I'm leaning toward black right now with the black/red interior, should I decide to trade in my Acura and pull the trigger on the Mustang....which is still a big if....

Thanks! Ford did all the hard work - I just keep it clean and add "go fast" parts now and then...

There is a pre-nup though - you will have to promise to wash it, polish it, remove dust and generally spend quality time with it... Other colors are more forgiving of mild neglect...

Sounds like you are a definite candidate for the pampered pet registry....yes, black takes a bit of work to keep her beautiful.

Mr V, please elaborate on the downpour issue. Are there leak issues? I don't get caught in them very often but you never know really when a storm is going to let go on you.

No leak issues. Ford built a rather nicely designed convertible. However, even though it only takes 37 seconds or so to put up your top, if you are caught in an unexpected downpour witht he top down, 37 seconds can be an aweful long time waiting while your interior gets drenched. Then too boot, it will likely never start to down pour when you are at a stop light, no, it will happen when you are crusing down the boulevard or moving down the freeway with a puropose, then you have to pull over befor eyou can put up the top sinc ethe top will not operate while the car is in motion. So now your 37 secodn in the rain, has turne dinto a minute or two...all the while your interior and you are getting soaked.

Let us not forget, if you are like me and twohorse, we have hard tonneau covers over our convertible top when the top is down, and if you have hard tonneau cover too (very cool looks), it adds time to put the top up. Just a thought. If you are like me and your vert never sees the rain...then all is good.

o god...i cant imagine being caught in the rain! but i do have a funny story about quite the opposite...

me and my father were on our way home this past summer from a magazine shoot...(car was on the cover of a mag). were cruising home at about 3 in the aft. with the top down...we then hit the on ramp of the highway. once we do...we see that there is wall to wall traffic b/c of a accident and we are parked their, we are absolutely ROASTING. my father was driving so he asked me to climb into the back and remove the soft cover over the top. i finally get it off (with about 50 cars watching me behind us... )...then we begin to put the top up when all the traffic in front of us clears. so we are sitting with a million cars behind us waiting for the top to go up...lots of horns honking! it was the longest 30 secs of my life!

Leaving the house:
1. sunscreen - check
2. sun glasses - check
3. www.noaa.gov - check
Doesn't everyone check the weather before they leave the house

For me to take my Stang out, I check the weather the night before to make plans, and then again the morning of the outing to verify. Remember my rule...."NO POSSIBILITY OF RAIN!!!!"

I'm with you, V. The ONLY time my car has seen the likes of water is hand bucket baths and that ONE time the tires were in that light dusting of snow in order to get pictues of the stripes posted here. I check the weather the day before and the day of JUST to be certain my plans to drive are unchanged. My girlfriend says I'm unhealthily obsessed...I say I am caring and nuturing . The debate ensues...

She came home the other day with a mud soaked Lab Retriever (literally, I am NOT making this up) in her Saturn Ion...That was the day I told her she would NEVER be allowed to drive my car without me there and the day I said I am not helping with the clean up...ever.
