Default Anyone else ever get air in their stang?

Just curious to see is anyone else's stang has been off the ground while driving. Here's the story: Dad's turn to drive the stang awhile ago. I'm sitting in the passenger seat. There's 2 places where we love to speed. The road is manbeck road. It starts up high, goes over a few humps in the road, then goes donw into a "valley", then comes back up, few humps agian, then ends at a stop sign and you either turn left or right. The road is about I'll say half a mile long amost. My dads not the usual one to really speed, specially since im around because he's supposed to be a "good influence". But on manbeck, if you have seen the new starsky and hutch remake movie, at teh very end when they get the new gran turino, and starsky says hes gonna take it slow, but the needle on the speedometer quickly reaches 100 and hutch is in the passenger seat yellin no starsky. I'd be hutch. As soon as we turn on manbeck, I look over real quick and see the needle quickly spinning right. I'm usually ok with speed but this time he went a little more longer then usual before he started to slow down. Starts slowin down about 2-3 seconds before the last set of humps at the end. Goes over the first one fine, but the second is is bigger and you just feel time pause, and butterflies shoot in your stomach as the whole car is atleast 3-4 inches off the ground. We land on the ground, everything was ok except for my heart beating out of my chest. I know maybe 3-4 inches isn''t that much probably to some people but that was first time I have ever gotten air in a car, and of course of all cars to be in when it happens, my baby.
Has anyone else accidently have this happen to them? one of the most scariest feelings in the world I think.

off topic, but I also heard something sad today from a friend in where I last moved form, Altoona, PA, there was a torch? red '05 stang gt with twin turbos around, everyone kept saying about it but I never actually got to see it, but anyway, today I heard the guy blew the motor in it I know she's not my stang but I really wanted to see that stang and maybe get a ride in her or soemthing. Poor Pony.

6 feet! holy heck. How did you do that? Did you paint the stang orange and put a black 01 on the side? That is nuts man. And all you ahd to replace were the uca's and lca? I'm surprised you didn't have to replace anything else. Did the stang land evenly? I hope it did.

WOOHOO! 25 minutes until Carrol Shelby reveals that stang that theyre only building 500 of on barret jackson. It's black!

Hey come on now he had it on a lift changing the LCA & UCAs. Monster truck and desert racers are the ones for air not stangs.

Yeah, I'd like to hear THAT story. Was it intentional or let me guess, otherwise?

A friend of mine used to do it on purpose. After school we'd go down to this specific intersection where it curved up wildly as you came into the intersection. Riding downhill he'd gun it in his 94 Exploder and catch about a foot and a half of air. We caught it on video once, not sure where the tape is. Fun but scary the first couple times.

I never got air in my mustang but I did with my F-150. I was in the white mountains in NH on the way to Mt, Washington and on the path there was a huge piece of concrete sticking out of the ground looking like a speed bump on steroids. I floored it goin 40 and the tired just barey made it off the ground. The first landing was smooth then I went for a second pass and I heard a big bang lol. Thats when I called it a day. Was SO much fun though.

lol Yeah once by accident, I was going around a turn and there was a dip in the road. Thank God it wasn't a big turn because my rear tires skipped off the turn and made a pretty loud bark and then I straightened her out. Other than that I've never gotten the wheels off the ground, I'm thinking that these cars were not designed to be airborne When I was a kid I use to do jumps in my 82 Celica GT...That car didn't last too long if you know what I mean.

Some of those stories, ouch! I jsut got air agian a few days ago in my beater truck, not in my mustang, thank god, that will never happen again. This time I did it going over the train tracks. The road is straight for atleast a half mile then comes up to the tracks, no cars whne i was there. I was like here we go, floored it, hit the tracks at 80 mph, (yes I'm a big dukes of hazzard fan and yelled yeehaw lol) got about 2-3 feet high off the ground, but about i'll say 40 some feet long. Came down and my POS beater is still going.
