Default Getting oh soooooo close to becoming one of your group....

Well I took the Black GT vert out for a spin earlier tonight, and after seeing the car close up the adrenalin was flowing with this car where it was not when I first saw the torch red one. First off the Black/Dove interior with the woven charcoal aluminum instrument panel looked infinitely better than the all black with the satin aluminum instrument panel that the torch red GT vert had.

The Black GT vert also has the cloth convertible top which also looks infinitely better than the less expensive vinyl one, in my opinion. But I think it's supposed to look better since it's a 230.00 option...lol.

I was also impressed with the dealership I went to....no high pressure whatsoever. That is a big plus for me because it leaves me with the impression that they are going to come up with something fair. I still have a little angst about giving up my Acura TL, but tonight I have the feeling that if they crunch the numbers in my favor I could be signing on the dotted line sometime this week.

If any of you knew me, you would know this is a MAJORLY impulsive thing I am doing. When it comes time for me to buy a car I usually spend months doing research, test drives, etc. But I am going to be 50 in September so I think I should do something wildly impulsive at least once....lol. Well I have done a few impulsive things but nothing of this magnitude.

I want to thank all of you that have given me your input and opinions. You really have lots of good information. Even if I wind up standing pat with my Acura, I have enjoyed reading all of your posts. And if I do roll the dice....well then you have a new member to kick around...lol.

Stay tuned....

oh buddy... go for it! I do like the Acura TL... but, there is something about owning an American icon.

And an American vert too boot....the luxury of the Acura is nice, but the thrill factor of an American Convertible Muscle car is undeniable.

No question about it - get the Mustang. Acuras are good cars, but they look like so many other cars. NOTHING on the roads comes close to the style of the Mustang.

Default impulse

Nothing wrong with impulse buying, thats how I buy just about everything!
I hate to shop. Rather take a beating than to go shopping!
When I bought my GT 'stang I just picked the color and options and paid a deposit and ordered it, 2 weeks later drove her home!

+1. My first Mustang was an impulse buy. I bought it new, off the lot, no research. That was in 1996 and I drove it for 10 years and 100K+ miles. Then I sold it in exhange for my 2006 GT - which - God willing - I plan to drive for another 10 years and 100K+ miles. I've had no regrets whatsoever. Did I say this?: DO IT!

At the end of your life, will you be saying "I'm glad I didn't buy that Mustang" ?

The only regrets I have ever heard about Mustangs go like:

"When we bought our house, I had to sell it. Man I wish I still had that car."

"When my wife got pregnant, I had to sell it. Don't get me wrong, I love my kids..."

The receptionist at the Ford dealership had "made" her husband sell his Boss 302, to pay off his student loans. She thinks that's why he divorced her.

Mustangs are that important to a lot of people

Something you need to think about...

-Do you smile a lot when you drive your Acura TL?
-Are you disappointed when you reach your destination b/c you have to stop driving and get out of your Acura TL?
-Do you have trouble walking away from your Acura TL b/c you keep turning around to look at it?

I can answer "yes" to all those questions (insert stang in place of the acura). That is how sweet it is to own a mustang. If you answer no to any of those, it's time to change cars.

My friend has a TL and he is always trying to trash talk my Stang. He's just jealous because he can't keep up with me. Luxury is nice, but this car will make you feel like a kid again. Just beware the 'mod' bug. Once it gets you, there is no escape.
