Default Mobile Dyno Tuning...Good or Bad?

Being on this site for the few short months that I've been here, the one thing I learned is that if one is ever going to do any mods to their car, the first thing one should do is get a tuner and CAI. The other thing that I've learned is that when applicable, one should get a custom Dyno Tune from a reputable shop nearby in one's home town. For a while now, I've been looking at getting a CAI and Tuner from places like Brenspeed, Bamachips, .etc. In recent weeks I've been searching Google, Yahoo, and other website for custom Dyno Shops that are within a good distance of me. Being located in Lexington, SC isn't exactly going to be the hot bed of the Mustang performance world. In any case, I found one but it's over 200 miles away from my home address so I don't think that's doable (I'm not a long distance driver...although in the Mustang I'm a lot more tolerable).

A couple of days ago, I found a company up state near Rockhill (about 90 minutes from me) and the North Carolina border that specializes in custom tunes for most performance vehicles offered by Ford, Lincoln and Mercury but their primary line of business are Mustangs. They are a mobile Dyno Shop and from what I gather from their website (and will confirm with an e-mail to them soon enough) they will bring their equipment out to a place of residence and will dyno tune one's car creating a set of custom tunes for that specific vehicle. To me it sounds like a good deal because it would save me time travelling to and from and allow me to get a custom tune that's perfect for my car. My question about this is how good are mobile dyno tunes as compared to having a dyno tuning done at a regular dyno shop. I've read good and bad comments when it comes to mobile dyno tuning but I can't get a grasp on it. Anyone that can offer me some insight I would appreciate it alot.

The website is Pro-Dyno.net | Mobile Dyno Tuning Service if anyone is interested in looking.

Interesting... Most folks with a mobile dyno will usually take the dyno to an event where they can offer dyno pulls to a large number of people. If they'll bring to your house, that's great but I don't know if they will due to liability issues (eg. your car breaks free in your driveway and smashes into your house). Nothing wrong with a mobile dyno. Doug at Bamachips uses a mobile dyno.

Not just the liability, is the noise depending on where your neighbors live that could be a police issue. They get pretty loud.

It's a no go. I talked with a guy from the website and the impression I got is that I"m going to need a few cars lined up for a dyno tune before they would even consider coming to my neck of the woods. No biggie, I'll just give Brenspeed or Bamachips a call soon.

That's what I figured... It has to be worth their while to pack up the equipment and haul it somewhere.
