I dumped the crappy shaker 1000 head unti tonight, went with the Alpine 3885 with the IPOD dock.

everything went smooth, wiring harness that Crutchfield supplied worked perfectly (They are very helpful BTW)

However, when I got my dash all back together, no heat or A/C

Too late tonight to figure it out, this is an after work tomorrow evening project, to remove the console once again and figure out what I forgot to plug in...
But the stereo sounds GREAT, everything works, all speakers, uncluding the bass box in the trunk!

I'll keep you posted, and I'll have pics too!

Oh, and the mods keep coming...

I've installed several stereo and DVD systems I purchased through Crutchfields, and you're right, their customer service is top-notch, their directions are clear, and their adaptor enclosures are almost factory looking. I doubt I'd buy anywhere else. Their prices are usually among the best. Not the cheapest, but when you consider their service, it's well worth it.
Glad to hear it went so well for you. Turn up the volume so we can hear.
