might find one some day soon in the want ads section.
The "Real Man" bit is a reference to a joke Stlwagon and I had in another thread.
As for the shaker, I'm not sure if I would go that route or not. At this point, the last exterior mod I'd like to do is get a replacement grille that keeps the fog lights, but eliminates the pony emblem. Preferebly with the rectangular openings. That would allow me to mount a tribar pony on the drivers side.

You know, I never realized the shelby pins came with brackets like that! I thought I had an original idea, but Carroll beat me to it. Sigh.

Yeah, that was one of the things that convinced me to spend the extra money on the Shelby pins. The lanyards are a little nicer than the Ford pins in that there are eyelets swaged on either end of the lanyard as opposed to looping the lanyard material itself.

The installation notes you posted back in March really came in handy. The uni-bit you recommended was a real life saver. I don't think things would have come out as nice if I hadn't gone out and bought one.
I like the Shelby Automobiles hood pins better than the Ford version, but I do wish they had some sort of interior trim ring. The lanyards are really nice on these and I like the fold-over pin retainers. I did end up enlarging the hole on the scuff plates slightly so they would fit properly. The pins are vertical, but the hood curves and the scuff plates had the exact diameter of the pins, no clearance. Otherwise everything went together pretty well. Like Ultraclyde posted, measure once, twice, and five times more. I think I adjusted the pin height a half dozen times until I got it to where the hood pins fit snug, but not tight to the scuff plate.
I would have gotten better pictures, but it's raining outside and we all know how I feel about my car getting rained on.
I have been looking for this exact set, if you don't mind can you tell me where you got them?

he he, nice pin post. looking at the thread length above the bracket my idea of mounting the bracket on top of the plastic cover using 2 solid spacers and 2 longer bolts, might interfere with the hood or might not be able to lower the pin enough. i think i had a good idea, but i`ll probably have to go under the rad bracket like you did. also did your pin brackets have the 2 holes or did you do that to move the pin back a little ? anyone else have any install pics of what they did to the plastic rad cover?

My brackets had one elongated hole. Rather like two overlapping holes. If you could get the brackets to sit flat over the top of the radiator brackets, it should fit, but I don't see where it would have an advantage one way or the other. I'm sure you could try it both ways as it's just a couple of bolts.
Remember, when modifying the cover you'll need it to be removable with the pins on.
Shelby sells replacement covers now with the holes pre-cut. I'm sure they'd send you the dimensions (they were very good to deal with) or I could fax them to you.

good point. i was talking about mounting completely above the plastic cover which would really look good, but i wouldnt be able to remove it without removing the hood pin brackets. i`ll have to cut the holes in the cover. my plates dont have the double holes(slot). but the round hood plates have slightly oversized holes, i guess to deal with the curve of the hood better.

I think hood pins are a good idea. I don't have them but I should. Through the years I had two hoods fly up on me.

ive had that happen too. thats one scary feeling when you cant see and you moving pretty good. and my 4.0 is so fast i cant beleive that hood can even stay on but,,,thats not why i`m installing these as much as i just think it looks too cool, but it will be a safe feeling. i called shelby and got the templet for the radiator cover cutouts if anyone needs them. they do sell the covers pre-cut but they are 80.00( probably cheaper than a new cover from the dealer) myltlpny, thanks much for your post and advice.

No problem, Bud.
I figured Shelby would send you the cutout information. They were pretty good to deal with. Hopefully, the other info I sent will help too.
I know for me, the hardest part was the first hole. After that, you're rather committed.
