Well, seeing as a "Real Man" was able to cut a big honkin' hole in his hood to install a shaker hood scoop, I figured I could tackle a couple of hood pins. Thank you also, to Ultraclyde. The installation notes you posted back in March really came in handy. The uni-bit you recommended was a real life saver. I don't think things would have come out as nice if I hadn't gone out and bought one.
I like the Shelby Automobiles hood pins better than the Ford version, but I do wish they had some sort of interior trim ring. The lanyards are really nice on these and I like the fold-over pin retainers. I did end up enlarging the hole on the scuff plates slightly so they would fit properly. The pins are vertical, but the hood curves and the scuff plates had the exact diameter of the pins, no clearance. Otherwise everything went together pretty well. Like Ultraclyde posted, measure once, twice, and five times more. I think I adjusted the pin height a half dozen times until I got it to where the hood pins fit snug, but not tight to the scuff plate.
I would have gotten better pictures, but it's raining outside and we all know how I feel about my car getting rained on.

Myltlpny, your pins look great. They are very similar to what I have just had installe don my car. I do not have the lanyards and I am not sure if I will. I also put my pins closer tot he corenrs, sinc ethat is where I needed the pins. Good job, she looks great.
Looks great!! I'm happy that my stress helped somebody else! I tried the lanyards that came with mine, but they retained the coiled shape and I couldn't get the two sides to look the same, so I took them back off. I figure maybe I'll try them again in a few months.

Looks great, nice job. I installed mine yesterday, the CDC Appearance ones "cosmetic-no drilling". Man, what a pain to get them centered to the fogs, with all the angles and illusions, measuring is sure time consuming. Making a pattern is also a challange.
Did you need to drill into the crossmember under the rad black cover or are the holes already there?

No, the Shelby brackets attach under the radiator brackets. I've included a picture here. You can also see in the lanyard end. I decided to hard mount the lanyard end to the radiator support.

Oh, that is cool, because I just hate doin any drilling on the car. That is a cool setup.
I know the hood needed drilling, but I was just wondering about the lanyard and thanks for the explanation and picture. Pic is always worth a 1000 words as they say.
Looks fantastic.
I got some pics today that I will post in my thread some time this evening of my CDC pins and lid panel i insalled y'day,
Thanks

yeah, yeah, yeah...I'd be a "Real Man", right?
Actually, If I had the money, I would have done that from the start. I like the shaker, but just couldn't come up with that much money at once to put into the car. Too many other obligations. Granted, over the long run I would have probably saved money, but....
