I read that some folks are using products that cause the wheels to have a dull appearance. I wash them with zaino car wash, dry them, then I hand buff with a clean cotton towel. I get good results, but am open a product that will make them brighter without damage.

Hey hog....I've been looking at some products from a place called Griot's Garage. I have a catalog and they have a website. I just ordered some tire dressing cream which is supposed to be waterproof and a big microfiber drying towel that they told me is better than their synthetic chamois.
They also have a product called Mag Wheel and Aluminum polish that I am looking at.
It looks like they have some very good products, a little pricey but then good stuff usually is.
I have been using Mothers aluminum polish on mine and some good ol' fashioned elbow grease and had great results. It's a bit of a workout, but worth it in the end. I haven't had much luck with the electric polishers.

+1 Mothers Aluminum Polish and some major elbow grease. Interesting comment on the electric polishers. I thought about trying the ole' Mother's "powerball" polisher that you see FOOSE pushing on commercials. Thought this would work better. However, it is not exactly cheap - as in "rip-off" at $20 for essentially a small, round, sponge.....guess FOOSE is getting his cut

Aren't those wheels clear coated Why would you "polish" them with an abrasive if they are?
I have the fans, and they are clear coated.
Actually that is a very good point....I just looked at the Giriot's catalog and it described the polish as being safe for "non clear coated aluminum". If these rims are clear coated then a polish would not be the thing to use.
The polished 18" bullits are clear-coated. I wax mine to keep the shine up, but I'd not want to use anything abrasive. Once you take off the clar coat, they would be harded to keep up on.
I use Mothers "Billet" wheel polish. Its the best you can get. Even the guys at the dealer were very suprised when they were swapping my wheels front to back.
I can read my watch in my Bullets can you?
Oh and we all know how ugly and rough our cam covers are right? Look at 30 minutes work Mothers Billet, and an old rag did.

Ditto here....I tried those special cleaners but ended up going back to wax. And it helps to help keep the brake dust from sticking.

Mothers & the Mini Ball work great on these wheels.
Bought one for my C6, then parked it when I figured out they were clear coated.
Glad I kept it !

I just pulled my car out of the garage and gave it another coat of Zaino. I maintain the wheels with just a little bit of window cleaner-seems to work fine.
