Default Shaker Hood System With C&L Intake

Hey everyone,
I currently have the C&L Intake w/ SCT II 93oct Tune. I really like the Shaker system alot and they claim it uses the factory Intake. I was wondering If I can use the Shaker with my C&L and Tuner?
If I can, I would want to do this before the Summer. I understand the Shaker is mostly for looks *which is why I want it, but it is actually functional too. I like the black scoop better than the factory 07' colored fake scoop, the 07' is nice but it doesn't help airflow any.
Any answers to this mistery of mine would be really, really helpful. I have been curious about this for a long time now. **I did a search and didn't come up with this exact question.
Thanks In Advance~Chris

Yes you can. It will likely require some cutting of the shaker to fit the C&L elbow and you'll need to cut a hole in the heat shield and possibly extend the shaker airtube a couple of inches.

Default Shaker

I have an 07 GT with the same set up you have. But the way the shaker is made, I cant see how you could get any air from the shaker plumbed to the C&L. In any case the set up you have now is much better.
I may be wrong, but you most likley will have to decide weather you want real performance and better fuel mileage, or run the shaker hood scoop and look cool. Your totally right in not sticking a fake scoop on your stang.
Personally, I would leave it alone.

Any cold air getting to the cone filter is a good thing. The shaker isn't good for much performance gain anyway. It's more eye candy than anything.

I almost wish I could just have the hood cut just to stick the shaker scoop in there just to blow cooler air on the engine itself Yeah I realize that for how much it will cost it probably wont be worth it. I don't know, I just really love the way it looks but I certainly don't want to loose my C&L and Tune over it.
Has anyone else or anyone you know done this mod with my or any other intake? So I got one yes and one not sure whether this could be done I'm sure it probably could be with the right tech who knows their stuff, but I'm still unsure.
Anybody else?? Thanks for the responses by the way

It will work with any intake. It just requires some fabrication since it's designed for the stock airbox and tube.

I have the Shaker piped into my T/I intake. It just took a few adapters from the "Build your own CAI" aisle at Pepboys.

Did you cut a hole in the heat shield or did you plumb it some other way?

FWIW, I had my C&L plumbed to my Shaker back in August 2005. And after the Kenne Bell supercharger went on in January 2006, I turned it into a "chimney", just to let cool air in (or hot air to escape) under the hood by cutting out the bottom of the scoop. Both worked great. Here are some pics of both setups. The first two are with the C&L. The last three are with the KB.

I used the current K & N setup on our '06 with the Shaker. Just have to cut a hole in the heat shield and another one for the MAF sensor. I covered the original hole for the MAF sensor with a rubber floor plug....
