Question utilizing dash block outs for a toggle switch

Has anyone drilled into one of the block outs on the dash? I do not have the My color, trip computer etc. so i have 3 blank block outs on my dash.
I am installing a Roush fascia with fog lights. They have a second toggle switch that I need to mount. they say to install it by the left knee on the underside of the dash. I don't like that too much. So I was considering the block out.
Is it hard to access that panel or remove it for drilling?
It is a small switch which I think should fit o.k. and not look out of place.

I've used block outs for earphone jacks, fog and driving lights and even a nitrous switch.I've never had a newer Stang dash apart but there should be someone with directions that have installed an ignition button in the dash.

Well I guess I start poking around with it this morning. I've never had the dash of to begin with.
I wonder if it would be easier to just remove the stereo and access it that way.
So I ask this:
does the radio dash panel just pop off or are there hidden bolts???

That is a good write up! And a bit of a pain for one switch...

I have switches in the middle below the climate controles and also under the p-brake handle.
