I was browsing the internet trying to kill sometime.. and some guy on a car website showed pictures of his shaker 500.. and he said he just recently bought the piece to hardwire your ipod into the system for the digital quality youd normally get by just listening to it.. cause i kno in my moms new 07 Eddie Bauer Explorer.. they have that little hole for the mp3.. but obviously the Shaker 500 doesnt have that.. so i just was curios who knows anything about that..

Mine is in the console under the arm rest.

I'm not too certain, but I don't think the 05/06 models had it. I think it came on the 07's...
But, I'm sure somebody will correct me if I'm wrong....

Mine is an 07, sorry. I don't know about 05 and 06.

Correct, only the 07 models have that.

oohh iight, thanks for all the help guys .. ooh n since it doesnt have it.. do u think ford can hardwire one in somehow?? has any1 had it done b4?

No, you can get the PIE Adapter. OR you can ask Ford to put in the '07 shaker unit into yours, but I asked about that not too long ago and that will run you around 2000-4000 bucks. I was really confused about how the shaker could be that much, but rather question him, I just went on about my biz.

i installed the peripheral unit and put the connection into my console; this is only for ipod; works great and can control the ipod through my shaker 500; again good option if you use ipod.

Another option that you might want to try is a FM transmitter I have one on mine and it works perfect, cd quality

Ive gone through 3 of them, two of them were 50 each.. and then i bought a 85$ griffin one, sounded the same crappy quality.. i cant seem to find the good ones.. lol so i returned it after 2 months..

I've got the new Peripheral Electronics PXAMG in my '05 and so far it has been working great. No gauge issues that the old peripheral unit had. You can control everything from the shaker head unit.

If you want true digital sound from you iPod you can not get that from a FM transmitter; also, you don't get true digital sound if you are connecting your iPod via the earphone connector to the female connector on the front of the radio. In order to get a true digital signal to your radio you need to install a PIE unit which connects to the back of the radio. I had mine installed by Best Buy and had the connector for the iPod hidden in the center console. It works great and wasn't very expensive; around $225 including labor. Good luck

My 2005 GT supports it. i went to best buy and got the adapter for 149 and had it installed for 50 bux took them a few hours but they got it working great. now i can see the songs and changem from the Shaker 500
